2008-2009 Classes Discussion

haloha:
ooh yeah, you already have 4 other APs.
maybe you should put off ap es or art history for sr year, depending which is easier for you.
you want to take ap calc cos its a core subj, and almost everyone 'competitive' takes it.

jenife:
self study ap chem!?
i think its easier to self study euro. its basically memorizing stuff.

sushifureak:
hmm, maybe take AP Calc BC senior year?

sushifureak:
lol, no my school offers ap chem. my school doesnt offer ap euro. i want to get 5s on my ap exams. i dont really want to take too many b/c im afraid i cant handle it. i heard that ap euro is hard tho, no? will ap chem take up all my time? the ppl at my school literally go straight home to do their homework:S

haloha:
jr- AP CALC AB
sr- BC
as i said, you want to take math alll four years

sushifureak:
Alright well i guess i can hold off on Art History for a year

Jenife: I took AP Euro this year and I would have to say i dont think i would self study it becaue you miss somethigns when you arent lectured or taught. Not that you wont get a five, but there is a lot of stuff that you have to remember, some key facts, i wouldnt recommend self study for it but if you really think you can do it i would go for it

jenife:
ap chem is hard to understand the concepts, but i don't think it's that time consuming (i never took ap chem but my friends are taking it right now, and the hardest part is knowing the concepts.. the work itself isn't time consuming). i guess if you're a science-oriented person, then it shouldn't be too hard.

euro, on the other hand, is very time consuming, with the reading and memorizing. i took ap euro as a soph. and i stayed up late studying it (partly cos i procrastinated and partly cos i 'didn't know how to study' efficiently). but it's not 'hard' .. if you want to get 5's, it's completely possible w/ apeuro. (i got 3, though. haha)

edit:
lol i jst read what haloha wrote. so i guess it's true what she said, but i didn't really listen in class in ap euro anyway, and its basically your own studying that would help you pass.

senior schedule:
-ap stat
-ap eng lang
-ap span lit
-guitar
-anatomy & phys
-honors physics
-multivariable calc

Why do so many schools offer multvariable calc? Its not offered at mine. This one insaneo Junior took it, he took AP Calc as a Freshman, then BC as a Sophmore, then as a Junior AP Stats and at a community college at the same time multivariable

^ I want to take Multivariable so bad next year (Junior Year) but instead I saddled myself with 7 AP's and an internship.

At least I can try to take it during the summer...

^^^ 7 APs, geez, which ones?

^
AP Psychology
AP Human Geography
AP US History
AP English Language
AP Spanish Language
AP Chemistry
AP Statistics

After that, I really don't think I can handle Multivariable. I tried to take Calc. 3-4 at our school, but the class didn't make. I guess I'll try summer school.

AP Calc AB
AP English
AP Gov/Econ
AP Physics B

Shouldn't be that tough compared to people with 23423 APs haha

you guys are all crazy w/ so many APs, 5+
do you have extra curriculars too? (sports, etc)
& are your schools REALLY competitive?

AP Bio
AP Music Theory
AP English Language (Anyone want to offer me comforts about that class right now?)
AP Calc AB
AP US Hist
French IV

Not too bad...

i don't know why i post this info sometimes...
but i just do....

ap government (us and comp)
ap economics (micro and macro)
ap french language
ap english lit
differential equations (third year calculus with weighted grade)
christian leadership
advanced debate (weighted grade)

people post it to show that 'oh you have 5 APs? well i have 6" or 7 or 8 or 9...
you know, that kinda attitude.
not that it's not BAD to be proud of your 72489 AP classes and no, i'm not condemning you guys... but seriously.
it's a way to subtlly (or not so subtly) brag about your accomplishments annonymously.

Physics (Honors/AP not available)
AP Calculus A/B
AP Biology
US Gov (If you take AP you are an idiot for succumbing to the ridiculousness of college admissions, and/or you just like gov.)
Art Production ( Fun class, considering a switch to Biotechnology though)
Lit 4 (Never exposed myself to AP English :( )

So, guys give me some help? Should I keep art production and have a fun, chill class or should I replace it with AP Psych (note taking galore) or Biotech? Gimme some opinions collegeconfidential'ers

^^ I'm with you sushifreak.

If you're posting your AP's and everything because this topic is interesting, then that's cool. If you're posting only to brag, then that's not cool.

I heard AP Psychology is an easy AP course (my high school does not offer it), but you can take Biotech, if you want.

As a Senior, I don't think 1 AP class might make a difference unless you need to improve your GPA and rank.
