I called and they said they sent the first wave out last week...

Well, I was told so anyway, but then again, I was also told that they did just send out the first wave. Of course, 'end of May' 'next week' 'this week' all tend to get confused and convoluted and I don't really know better than the next person shrugs

Just heard they were overenrolled, though...

So is it possible some people have already been accepted off the waitlist?

So wait...which one is it? Have they been sent already, will they be sent this week, or are they over enrolled?

I think we need someone to speak to an actual admissions officer for us to get accurate info on when these decisions are going out, how many, in what form etc.
So far all we've been getting are varying responses from someone almighty called "the lady" who's seemingly able to pick up everyones calls and yet reveal nothing.

Hey everyone

I just joined cc because I've been reading for a while, and have found the advice on here really helpful. I am a student from Canada.

I was on the waitlist for Brown 2012, and I just got off yesterday. They called me telling me that I was accepted. They also said that they are sending the first wave of waitlist acceptance letters by courier today....so some of you should be hearing really really soon!

I hope that helps! Let me know if you want further details.

Best of luck to all of you, I hope it works out!

do they only call international students and send out just letters for americans?

Congrats woof50!!! and thanks for the info

plum, other schools seem to do the reverse, call americans and send letters/emails to internationals because the time difference makes it inconvenient. Brown used to only send out letters so it's surprising woof got a call at all, maybe they're doing things differently this year.
But then again Brown always did things differently and that's why I love it!

congrats to woof50. hope we hear from Brown soon and hope i get the good news

When should everyone who is accepted receive "the call"? Is Brown calling everyone or just internationals? What about US students...is Brown sending them acceptance letters via mail only?

OMFG Just got a call from my regional rep saying I AM IN!

She said the letters were sent out today, and she was calling because you have until a week from today to respond and she wanted to give me extra time to think about it. LIKE I NEED IT! Holy crap I AM GOING TO BROWN!!!

Good luck to everyone else! Keep me updated!

wow congrats.. I'm praying for that call right now.

All right, it's official...I'm not leaving the phone or the mailbox for this week.

congrats SpicyChipmunk!! guess I won't be seeing you at Dartmouth now tho

Congrats SpicyChipmunk! That is awesome! I wish you the best of luck! Just wondering but are you international? Do you think that everyone would get a phone call to say you are accepted or do you think that some might only receive a letter? Congrats again!

Yeah, I'm wondering about the 'call' business too....why would they bother calling people? Added stress!?

Congrats to the two of you who're in, by the way.

Congratulations Chipmunk and woof50!!! Gosh I want an acceptance letter from Brown!!!!

I think it's safe to say our friends who received calls are international applicants.

I'm pretty sure SpicyChipmunk isn't international.

congrats to you guys. Were these the only 2 reports of people getting calls? Jeez I'm pretty anxious...
