I got in this morning, I'm not international. Good luck to you all!!! I hope to see you at Brown.

Congrats Artista! So does this mean that all those who were accepted received a phone call? Oh I hope that is not so!!!

Morning?!? But don't they realize we have school?
If they called, would they leave a message if you didn't pick up?

Congrats Artista3!!! CatchAFallinStar, it does look that way, unless there is some reason they would only call some people and not others. However, I cannot yet think of what that reason might be.

No, I'm from NH.

Just to give you all hope, I am pretty much your typical white, male bio major. The reason the woman said she called was because the letters were sent out today, and the deadline to reply is a week from today and she wanted me to have as much time to think about it as possible. Not sure if this was typical procedure or not.

My rep called sometime during the day. My mom gets home around 1, and she called my cell and told me that someone from Brown had left a message for me and wanted me to call them back. So I called and got the good news :)

Congrats Artista3, and good luck again to everyone else! Don't give up hope, it sounds like they will be doing this a couple more times.

my nerves are so wracked. is that a verb?

it is now (10)

I got in!!!

I received a call and almost started to cry. My legs are still shaking!

That makes 4...

Did anyone call in and find out what was happening today?

I guess its the end of the road if we didnt get a call today...... =(

^^bobdole, I doubt they will tell you anything of significance even if you do call. They'll probably say "decisions are being made and you will know soon enough...blah blah blah".

Damn...I have come to the realization that Brown or no Brown....One thing is for sure...College is Awesome!!!!! Thats when we discover ourselves; when we challenge ourselves. I hope everyone is still happy with where they are going for SURE (LOL) because next year around this time...we will be freshmen in SOME college that have just finished our first year. GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU!!! enjoy the summer before College starts and do all the crazy stuff you want to do, for when college time come around...its BOOKS BOOKS BOOKS.

Is it safe to say that if we didn't get a call then we didn't get in?

No, I would not say that at all. The impression that I got from my regional rep was that there would be multiple waves, which is why we have such a short turn-around time to let them know if we are coming. Also, I don't know if all of the regional reps called their kids... but it was definitely confirmed that the letters were mailed out TODAY, so the letters won't be arriving for another couple days.

My advice would be to have your GC talk to your regional rep (or call them/email them yourself) and let them know how much you want to go to Brown. I sent the admissions committee a letter, and also emailed my rep letting her know that if I was admitted off the waitlist, I was definitely coming to Brown. Apparently this goes a long way with them because they a) want kids who really want to be there and b) want to fill their class with as little hassle as possible.

Again, do not give up hope and good luck! The office will probably have more info tomorrow because of all the stuff that happened today... I'd say it's worth giving them a call to see what's up.

Thanks for the quick reply! My GC already talked to admissions and told them that I'll go to Brown if I get in. I've sent a couple letters, too. I might make a call tomorrow to see what's up, like you recommended. I'm feeling a little timid about contacting them, but I'm desperate to know.

OK, this may sound like a stupid question, but how do you contact your regional rep? I can't find the phone number or email address anywhere.

I just called and asked the receptionist. If you give them your name, they should be able to tell you who handled your application.

SpicyChipmunk do you know if the letters going out are only acceptances or rejections as well? And do you reckon they call everyone accepted or just those within the US timezones (haha that's what i've been telling myself since someone from Canada got accepted)

I just had a victory tea party with my GC (haha), and she said that Brown admitted 67 kids off the waitlist this wave. I don't think they're rejecting anybody yet.

Does anyone know whether Brown is calling everyone they admit? When admitted students post, others would like to know this as well as where they are from, whether they are accepting, and what school they are already committed to.
