<p>The website specifically states that all winners would be notified by MAIL (and seems to imply that the mail would go directly to the students). Why are they emailing teachers?</p>

<p>Yes, I got my awards in the photography Region At Large category. (It wasn't a false alarm!) I don't know if my teacher got an email (but I don't think she did), and I did not get an email.</p>
<p>Just wondering, do you get notification if you got a silver key? Should it come with the gold keys, or do they notify those separately? It feels like the people on this thread only got notified of gold keys, and I submitted three pieces... only two got gold keys. I wanted to know if my other one has a chance at a silver key.</p>
<p>I don't know. We live in CA and our son hasn't ever entered before this year. He submitted 8 photos for the portfolio and then several other individual photos. I will tell him to ask his teacher at school tomorrow.</p>

<p>I find it hard to believe that only 2 people on this forum were notified from RAL. Usually it gets insane around now.</p>

<p>Two theories:</p>
<p>1) The two people thought they were RAL, when they really had a regional sponsor.</p>
<p>2) They are notifying each specific category at separate times.</p>
<p>As I've posted on the previous page, theory #2 has proved true for many years.</p>
<p>FWIW, I just heard today that I got two RAL gold keys in journalism--but they notified my teacher, not me personally.</p>

<p>The packet said that another package would get to the student winners sometime before the end of March.</p>
<p>Just heard today from English teacher- submitted one piece(my other piece was disqualified.. it was too short and had my name in the piece) and gold key for personal essay/memoir.</p>
