I just got an email from the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards that said my writing was one of 70 pieces out of 400 selected as a finalist for this Best Teen Writing of 2006 Anthology. Apparently only 50 get in.

It's a little weird for me because I didn't even get a national gold award, I got a silver.

Did anybody else get this email? What to make of it?

ooh even though im not a writer one of the scholastic staff gave me the 2007 one...its a very enjoyable read and some of the work was really impressive. congratulations!

It's not weird that you got it with a silver; I've heard of that happening lots of times before.

Congrats, though! That's really great, and I hope you get in :)

Um, good job?

So wait, you won the 2008 award for something picked out from 2006 anthology? Wha..?

Never heard of it, btw.

Whoops, I meant to write the 2008 Anthology...

I guess I just thought it was weird that out of all the Gold Awards (probably more than 50, right? Or not?) they could have picked they chose some silvers. Is the idea that it's the best of the best at the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards?

Why the snootiness, Invoyable? I didn't just post to ask for congratulations, I figured somebody on CC would have gotten the same email or gotten nominated for it.

I'm sorry if you've gotten that sort of message...I was sincerely congratulating you. Oh, maybe I wasn't back then. But at least now, in all seriousness.

Looking at the website, it seems quite prestigious(?). Must've taken some effort.
