2008 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards!

For most schools, you don't have to be recommended or anything, but you do need your English teacher (if you're submitting writing) and an Art teacher (if you're submitting art) to sign some forms.

does anyone know when the winners are notified?

Bump.

I was a poem writing machine last night.

I have a question. If you have entries in more than one category, do you send them in separately?

can i enter in one art category and one writing category?? Or is it only one??

Plus, how can i register??? Can someone put up the process...

Registration:
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards
^There.

More than one catergory:
You can send them in together, I think, as long as each entry is in its own folder.

my teacher has always registered for me but this year i'm registering and having my counselor sign for me....
so when i register should i click new student?

Folder, as in cheapo little manila thing? I think I'll just email Scholastic.

Only one more question, I promise:
Do poems have to be between 50-100 lines? Because mine are shorter.

if you win any of the awards, do they notify your school or your counselor or only yourself?

Snoopy:
The entry has to be between 50 and 200 lines long. That can be one poem or a collection of poems. If it's the latter, each poem should be titled separately.

Ls47xx:
They notify you and your teacher.

So is the entire collection considered one entry? The poems I've written are each around 20 lines long, but I have 3.

Yes, it is considered as one entry.

Ok. Problem .. I have registered, but when I click "submit work," it only lets me submit artwork. I'm not entering any artwork. What do I do?

@mj93: The exact same thing happened to me. Email Scholastic directly, and ask them to change your profile. There was some glitch and that happened to quite a few people, apparently.

I also have a question: As far as entry fees, can you send in one check for all entries? Or are separate $5 checks necessary for each individual entry?

They would, of course, prefer seperate checks for each entry, but I think you can just send $5 total. That info is somewhere on their website, I think.

So the deadline for 'Region-at-large' is in January?
I tried Googling for it [since I couldn't find the date on the actual website...err] and it was november 30th ?! @_@

It should definitely be somewhere on the website. Email them if you can't find it.

I'd like to know the deadline when you find it, laugh-cry-smile.
