2009 Fall Transfer To NYU

what's the status of your payment, guys?
How come mine still shows submitted instead of downloaded??? Does it mean they still haven't got it? it makes me nervous, since the deadline is around the corner. Take my $$$$, NYU !

Six strings are your current stats?

Hey! I applied to Gallatin for Fall 09 (I'm a junior-standing transfer). Does anyone know when we're supposed to hear? May? June? April? Never?

Actually....also...I'm curious as to what people are thinking about my chances.

I've applied to Tisch twice, and was rejected twice, so that honestly worries me, but I'm a completely changed person now and obviously going an alternative route by applying to Gallatin instead (I think I make it clear in my essays that I am NOT going just to take class at Tisch. I want to study academic subjects that truly interest me while pursuing an individualized major I CARE about...I don't just want to get a degree in psychology when I know that's not what I want to do with my life sdkfjghkdfjgh). Plus my essays were like, retarded back then because I thought it was all based on the audition. ANYWAY I'm on a very... DIFFERENT path than most, and I hope that makes me stand out at Gallatin. I went to CU Boulder my freshman Year,to a crappy school in NY my second year, and now I'm taking a year off of school (graduated HS in 06). I've been interning(3 great internships--NY Musical Theatre Festival, Off-Broadway show, and a talent agency), performing in shows (Off-Broadway & benefits),working(Broadway Merch), and taking classes since 8/08. I've never been an amazing academic performer, but I am a good student, if that makes any sense...I like to learn. I'm a pretty good writer, so I think my essays are all fine. My recs are from a writing teacher at my second college, and my advisor and history teacher in high school...and they both love me, so those should be awesome.
anyway... here are my boring stats:
HS type: very small, private, one of the best in SF
HS GPA: 3.3 (all honors classes, or something, it was one of those "alternative" high schools...we didn't see our grades until senior year when we were applying to college)
SATS: Math 610 Reading 630 Writing 670
College 1 GPA: 3.5
College 2 GPA: 3.6

chance me

classofidontknow - Tisch is an extremely tough part of NYU to transfer to (so being rejected twice isn't bad). But besides that, Gallatin should be an easier place to transfer. I think your EC's are incredible and should benefit you a tiny bit for transferring. It won't make up for your GPA but it will make you shine a bit brighter. So in my opinion, I think you have a shot at it.

I'm applying to transfer to NYU Stern for Fall 10' which would be must first time applying to NYU. I know it's tough to get in but it's worth a shot (even if the odds are against me).

Applying to stern for fall '09, can't wait for that small envelope in May

Does anyone know how hard it is to get into the International Affairs Major at CAS? It says they only admit 20-30 people per year, and you must have a 3.67 GPA as it is an honors program. I am also applying to GW and would think it would be better to go somewhere where I can definitely choose the major I want, but I was curious if anyone has any personal info.

yay for april 1st! it's good to know that our apps may finally start being reviewed.

They need to hurry up and give us our decisions cause I cant wait anymore

Sit down and wait, they come early to mid may.

I can't believe we have a month to go!

at very least

Could you apply to both NYU stern and NYU CAS as a transfer?

AMG-you can only pick one

I'm really nervous.

What do you think is the earliest possible date that they'll send decisions? I can't take it anymore. I keep on having more and more doubts as time goes by.

I can soo wait to hear back from NYU. I'm not looking forward to getting rejected

Earliest mailing would be may 1st I'd say

actually, there have been a couple (but very few) people who found out in late april according to the 2008 and 2007 nyu transfer threads, but chances are that the majority will find out the first and second weeks of may. but come late april, i'm sure a post in this thread about their decision will be inevitable.

I know last year when i applied. I got my letter first because they sent out all the rejections letter first.
