2009 Fall Transfer To NYU

applied to CAS and still waiting too. sighs. thats prolly a bad sign but we’ll see.

has anyone heard from steinhardt yet?

Waiiittttt…

Did anyone else have their transcripts gone missing??? (or have any complications with their application)

Apparently mine were lost… they asked me to send them again. I e-mailed them and called them. My transfer adviser called them to (he use to work in their admissions department) and they asked for me to resend them, overnight. I’m REALLY hoping they’ll turn up…

same thing happened to me, my transcripts were received 28 days late :frowning:
hopefully this won’t effect me too much, I had my school call and admit fault.
Called admissions and said that I could have it put in writing, but was told it was not necessary.

I think that the majority of people are probably still waiting its just a good amount of people on this forum have got their results because their are an unusual amount of highly qualified people on a forum like this… so far we have what 3 or 4 people gotten decisions from CAS?

Well, have we proven the Net ID theory to be a be-all end-all? Or have people gotten in after not being able to create one?

a lot of people have gotten in after not being able to create one and several people who have found out they got in couldn’t get into their netID for days after they received their acceptance letter… it could mean your rejected but its just as likely if not more likely to mean they haven’t made a decision on you or haven’t processed your acceptance with the IT people.

when the net id “doesn’t work”, what message is displayed?

^ i think i’ve seen other people say that it tells you only NYU students can login or something.

miketranchina, my HS didn’t send my transcript at all until last friday (awesome, i know) so i’m in the same boat as you…i’m almost positive it will delay our acceptances, so i wouldn’t read into not having heard yet.

:/

geb90: are you applying to Stern??

i was accepted to cas and my net ID works… if that’s any help to y’all figuring out the system

nope, CAS. i tried the net id yesterday and it didn’t work…im dying here.

I don’t think this mishap is helping my chances for Stern whatsoever.

If one hasn’t been able to access to the web by using NetID, does it mean a rejection for sure?

The netID doesn’t mean anything and is not reliable. If you can’t login it may mean you’re app hasn’t been reviewed yet or they haven’t set up your account. Just wait for the mail.

miketranchina, i wouldn’t worry about it. NYU is huge, meaning they get thousands and thousands of qualified applicants who get screwed over when their HS, college or professors forget to send in transcripts. i really think that as long as nothing YOU’RE responsible for (eg, app, essays, $$) is late, and you get the missing documents sent to them ASAP once they notify you, it won’t hurt your chances. the fact that the admissions office is so flip about it seems like they’ve already written you off, but i think that we’re all just paranoid and it honestly isn’t that big of a deal. i’d say the biggest disadvantage is that it delays when you hear back!

bottom line, relax. if you’re meant to get into stern, a late transcript won’t hurt you, it undoubtedly happens all the time :)

In going over past posts, I saw only one person who was accepted into Stern thus far. (International Student)

YES I GOT INTO GALLATIN!!!
An admissions lady just gave me my decision over the phone I’m beyond excited right now!!!

Congrats Damanja. I knew you would get in.
