2009 Fall Transfer To NYU

I know this is a non chance thread, so I don't know if this is out of line...but does anyone know the difficulty level associated with each college. For example, I know where I go the Business school is extremely competitive, and social work is the easiest to get into. Does anyone know how it stands for the school sat NYU? I know that Stern is highly competitive, and no school is actually 'easy' to get into, but ya know....

in a nutshell, Stern + performing arts at Tisch = most competitive. Everything else is on a pretty level playing field.

hey emilyg!

after reading your post on the spring transfer thread, you should really apply to the school you want for the major you want, not the just the one that 'seems' easiest. every college in nyu is looking for something different, so comparatively speaking, one isn't necessarily easier than another. if you're that desperate to get in, I would personally apply to the school I want, and not just a supposed easier one so I can internally transfer afterwards. frankly, thats a bit of a manipulative move, and I wouldn't feel comfortable doing that, and the internal transfer process is no shoe-in.

If im going to tranfer, i need the sat???

if you did not take it in high school, no.
if you took it in high school but have more than a year's worth of credits, no.
if you took it in high school but have less than a year's worth of credits, yes.

Thanks y'all! Im gonna stick with my original decision!

ThanKs. Well i've been in college for over a year, im a sophomore right now, but in the application they request my SAT score.

They always ask for you SATs. Just fill it in, but you dont have to send it in.

thanks for the info!

i dont know if this has been answered yet or not, but when is everyone sending in their application? i'm done already, but is it too early to send it in yet?

I already submitted mine. never too early.

Im submitting mine this weekend. I think it's just easier to do it as soon as possible, just so you don't have to worry about it for the next couple of months.

I so agree with NYUjosh. I just submitted it, so that during the school year I dont have to worry about it and just worry about keeping my grades up.

i hope finish it on february

O no, this thread is dying again.

Is this not a chance thread anymore? And if not, should I post in another thread or make my own? (new around here, sorry)

Hey Kapt,

Sorry, but yeah, we're avoiding making this a chance thread because it doesn't make too much sense to have fellow nyu aplicants to gauge your chance (and mostly because if we did, every single post would be a chance post haha). Try making your own thread or asking on the spring nyu transfer thread.

how many teacher recs do i need? just one?

yes, you only need one.

Oh, OK. Thanks Josh!
