Oh, you’re right. I got two wrong, one from one of the passages (“without . . . ago” one). I totally missed that

I mine back on Teusday. I am so nervous becuase my score could be anywhere from 210 to 220. I live in Ohio and really want to get national merit. Any ideas on what OH national merit will be this year?

It feels like I’m one of the only people who haven’t received their psat scores back… and I’m extremely worried, before I thought I could get at least a 220 (80M/69CR/71CW, or something along those lines…) but now that everyone is saying how they missed some of the easy problems I am losing hope. I feel like I may have missed one or two math questions now (but all my answers agreed with what was on CC) and probably 1-4 CW questions.

Christ… and the cutoff in my state is 218!

Wow, finally got our scores today. Funny thing is, the school has had the scores for almost a week - the holdup was the guidance department trying to distribute everything to the appropriate teachers, etc.

Ended up doing pretty well - 80 math, 80 writing, 74 critical reading, so 234 composite.

Not bad, considering I’m a sophomore who didn’t study at all :-P

I found the critical reading especially hard, and was dismayed at one or two of the somewhat disputable vocabulary questions College Board included on the exam. I think I missed 3 on the reading section, and all were (from my point of view, somewhat menial) vocabulary-style questions.

To everyone who made National Merit this year - congratulations. To everyone who is still waiting - good luck!

i got mines yesterday

:(
:(

“It feels like I’m one of the only people who haven’t received their psat scores back”

I still don’t have mine. My school still says they haven’t received them.

I remember when I used to live in Illinois last year… I didn’t get my scores until January (I asked my guidance counselor everyday too). I never understood why I got them so late when the PSAT people are located in Evanston!

And plus, now that I’m in Virginia the cutoff went from 214-218… agh. Doesn’t sound like a lot but I will hate myself if I get anything from 215-217.

“I remember when I used to live in Illinois last year… I didn’t get my scores until January”

That sure boosted my hopes.

Haha sorry but don’t worry, I think my school was just really slow. It’s relatively new and it wasn’t very highly ranked.

But silverturtle, could you try something for me? Sign into the College Board account that you used on your PSAT (regarding the email you put on the sheet). Then go to this link:

https://quickstart.collegeboard.com/posweb/viewPsatScoreReportAction.do?testYear=2009

It will then ask you to put in the score report code. Since we obviously don’t have that underneath that it says to to put in your information (address, etc. the stuff that you put on the sheet). See if you can access your scores.

I can’t do this unfortunately because I just moved here like a few months ago, and I really didn’t know the exact name of my address so I put down the wrong one and now I can’t remember what I put. But you can try it and see if it works!

Sadly it says “Sorry, we need your access code to find your scores. Please find your access code on your PSAT/NMSQT paper score report or contact customer service (Error AFS07a).”

It’s not prompting me for the code.

my scores have not come
agony added to despair

Ah it was worth a try anyway. Guess we’ll have to keep waiting… :(

Oh and just a quick question, was acute one of the answers? It was a complete guess when I put it down, and I was fairly confident it was wrong. I just want to make sure now. It was a CR question that was asking about another good word for a sharp drop or something.

I think it was an answer.

Awesome. That brings my highest possible score to a 232 (but I probably made some dumb mistakes as well).

Since some of us are playing the waiting game for our PSAT scores, I would be interested in seeing how people did on their most recent SAT compared to their PSAT. If you could put the date of your SAT in your response that would be interesting also.

Yeah, that’ll be interesting to see.

Form W For those who have not received their scores yet and would like a comprehensive list of the harder and disputed question answers, here you go (for those whose questions and answers don’t help much to instigate a remembrance of the question, key words in the answer are cited):

^ Thanks a ton TQSMNTASP! Looking at your list, I’m pretty confident about my predicted score except for a couple of questions: #32 on CR Section 3 (which text was “celebratory” referring to?) and #31 on the W Section 5. What exactly was the “it has” sentence? I don’t remember it very well, and I doubt I even remember my answer anymore haha.

I think I put almost all of those answers… I really don’t remember at this point.
