So far I’ve visited Berkshire Kent, Hotchkiss, and Choate. Overall feelings (for me):

Berkshire: Quaint, small, pretty. It was a very nice small school and really personal. The captain of the crew team came and talked to me, which was a nice touch. My interviewer said I “hit it out of the park” in terms of my interview. I really liked the location of Berkshire, but I could tell almost immediately that I didn’t belong there.

Hotchkiss: Fell in love. Deeply, deliriously in love. Would enroll tomorrow if they let me. It was beautiful, a large campus that somehow managed to feel small and very community and family like. Had the most amazing interview I could ever imagine, my interviewer and I clicked immediately and she told my mom in the “parent interview” that she was blown away by me. Even thing just clicked for me at Hotchkiss.

Kent: A really nice small school within walking distance of an amazing town. Had an amazing crew team, 2nd in the world. The crew coach and riding coach both came to talk to me and the golf coach would have if not in an interview. There was absolutely nothing bad to say about the school, but I also knew it was not right for me.

Choate: It seemed like a small college at first, but really wasnt that big once we started walking around. All the kids were really friendly; they all said hi when I walked past, even though they didn’t know me. Really liked Choate overall, though no where close to my love for Hotchkiss.

Sorry if I babbled, I just wanted to throw in my 2 cents :)

I’m applying for Andover, exeter, choate, and cushing. My grades were quite bad so I’m depending on the ssat right now. I’m also an international student.I love choate but I really want to get into Andover and exeter. Do you know people who get into one of the top schools with bad grades?

I have fairly good grades, more A’s than B’s, but still some B’s. Though schools seem more interested in SSAT’s and recommendations than grades, at least in my experience.
