meee tooo!
i had to get my counselor to sign something and she gave me a lot of sass and i was going to go hand it to my dad to ship, but then i told him to come back afterschool or something and when i went back my dad had gotten it and shipped it already
and then i was at a swim meet and called him and he sent off the wrong papers
and i left the meet early to run to fedex at like 6:30 and got it fixed
i was like sobbing in public but um… i’m kind of hormonal haha! and i do feel like i put in all i could so YAY

I’m sorry to hear that things didn’t go as planned FrasirFir
Oh well, at least you got the application in :)

Darn, so now there’s a six-week wait? Eh, I’m not too worried about it I guess. I’m not expecting to get in (with a 5% acceptance rate, can you really expect anything?), so acceptance would be like a (more-than) pleasant surprise.

I’ve been looking at past threads and I think the week of the decisions vary each year. In 2009, everyone was surprised when they came out in February… Also in 2009 they sent the acceptances out a couple days before the rejections… Does anyone know whether it was like this in 2010?

Everything came out at the same time (at least, everyone who went to my school got their letters on the same day (and no, we were not all accepted :P)). I received my letter in early March–the 6th?–but everyone everywhere didn’t simultaneously receive them. I think I got mine a couple of days after the first person did. Oh, and the header on my letter says March 4th.

so on my application, i forgot to mention an A in a college calc class. would i just notify RSI through email, or should I have the professor send them a little email.

I don’t think it’s necessary in my opinion. Even though my transcript didn’t include any of my classes from this year, I didn’t specifically include that “I was taking Category Theory and got an A in the class.” I spoke about it in my essay and I think it was assumed I was excelling by displaying what I knew.

Of course, it can be a different situation for you if you didn’t speak about math at all, but in the end, I doubt an A in a Calculus course is going to make or break you. =/

Guys do you know when we will receive confirmation of our application reaching CEE? The self-addressed postcard

Swingline- if you shipped without fedex you can track your package and make sure it arrived (I did this). If not you have to wait for your postcard. My guess is these will be in the mail by tomorrow at the latest so you will get it this week.

I got my postcard back already.

When did you send in your application?

I sent my application in on the morning of January 8, and although I sent it with USPS Priority shipping, it took a week to reach. I got my receipt confirmation on the 19th.

I haven’t received mine, and I sent over a week ago…although I don’t even recall if I included a postcard…

Whee, postcard. (My app was mailed last Tuesday through USPS Priority Mail, if you need to know.)

My application reached there on Thursday morning. I got my postcard on Saturday.

i mailed my app on tuesday via UPS 2-day air. it got there thursday afternoon. i just got my postcard today.

Like energize and momo, I also sent my app Tuesday morning, with expected arrival date Thursday, and received my postcard today.

Also, did anyone else’s postcard say “Recieved! - CEE” ?
That little exclamation point tells me that they are human. The misspelling tells me that they are likely rushed and/or have a large number of applications (which is not suprising).

I haven’t received my postcard yet, but it may be because I live in Arizona, which is quite a distance away from Virginia. And they probably have 1000+ apps this year, which would definitely explain the error. I do like how they put the exclamation point though. ^^

I put my own message on my postcard so they wouldn’t have to write “received,” so I wonder if they’ll do the same with mine. Of course, these are just trivial musings of mine, haha.

i’m from southern california, so that’s even farther away from virginia than arizona, and i got my postcard today.

i put my own message on it, so they didn’t write anything on it. =

NorCal~

I put a message, but they still wrote “RSI Application Received. Thanks, <initials>”…</initials>

I remember this
I wouldn’t worry about it for now, and I suggest making backup plans in case you don’t get in.

There’s a small but finite chance that I could be on staff again this summer (finding a summer internship willing to let you skip a week and a half in the middle of the summer is hard, in addition to even getting the offer), but if I am I look forward to meeting any of you who get in.
