i just got the results back today for the High School Math Contest in Modeling that I have participated in. should I update CEE on my award? i couldn’t include it in my essays because the awards are announced after I mailed my app. if so, do i just e-mail to rsi@cee.org?

What is the date of decision notification? (more or less, if not exact)

My postcard still hasn’t come in the mail, and I’m beginning to become worried. Hopefully it arrives by the end of this week.

Well, last year, the decisions were sent out on March 4th. The year prior, the decisions were sent around February 27th. The years prior to those, the decisions came out the last week of March. If I had to guess, it would probably be around March 10th this year, especially because the due date was extended a week.

Hopefully rejection won’t kill my AIME performance… xP

(Not that I’m expecting anything.)

i haven’t gotten my postcard yet and i’m in north carolina ><

I think they sent ours a bit later, Frasir, seeing how we both overnighted.

probably… i’m just paranoid.
my postcard was a picture printed out from the store, not a postcard
and i wrote “i <3 duke lemur center” cause that’s where the picture was from
and then i made a scratch and sniff patch with dolce & gabanna light blue!
but then my whole package smelled like Sicilian citrus and i’m not sure that’s a good thing…

so was i required to send a postcard, because i never did

It wasn’t a requirement. It was optional for people who wanted to know that their application was received, so you should be fine.

I only sent it because I didn’t want to wait until March only to find out that they never received it in the first place.

well the ups tracker did give me some ease about that

I wonder if the RSI admissions officers look at this thread every year…that would be pretty sneaky.

@veezbo: With 1000 applications —> 3000 essay papers i don’t think they have time haha Moreover they can’t know the persons from their nicknames

I if i’m at Senior in 2012/2013, i apply to 2012 Summer RSI or 2013 Summer RSI?

I got a postcard over the weekend which said “recieved!” on it. I thought it was quite ironic considering it was signed Center for Excellence in Education

Lol, we must have had the same admissions officer receiving our postcard, soccerchs. That’s exactly what was written on my postcard.

For the last question: “How did you find out about RSI?”… how much did you write and what does it matter? This question bothered me because it comes across as “did we prescreen you as a “likely” and please let us know that we did so we can accept you.” What are they really looking for in the answer to that prompt?

@sMITten: To my knowledge, they don’t even send likely letters, so I don’t think that would factor in.

Yes, I think they “recruit” from various competitions, etc. I have heard from reliable parents that their kids were invited to apply.

@sMITten, I didn’t really read it that way. I read it more like as a census question because they were curious as to how students found out about RSI. I have seen before that they do “recruit” a couple kids, but I don’t think it’s more than 3-5.

So what would you guys do if you get into RSI? (Celebration? Cancel other summer plans?)

And I got my postcard the other week to my relief. :)

I just saw that international applications are still open. What is the deadline and why do they get more time than US applicants?
