2011 UCLA Transfers: The Central Thread for Discussion and Decisions

through your ursa account, click on bruin card.

there is a link on your ursa page that says view bruincard account. then click apply for card on the left and this link should appear, but i don’t think it means anything…

@pinoiako916- was this link not working before?

its working for me, is it working for you?

It was working for me earlier, I got as far as pinoiako916 did in terms of uploading the picture and stuff, and now its telling me that my ID# is not in the system so I cannot access it. D:

no, i mean prior to today. did you try to access the link in the past couple of days?

OMG I can see my FA doc tracking and FA summary this morning!! I could not see it last night.

Also, last year I couldn’t see it and I was denied. I think today might just be the day =)

Awards 2011-2012 Academic Year

No Award Information available for this Award Period.

This is what I can see…are you guys actually seeing award info? should i just kms now?

just now i saw it

mehh i don’t see mine. i think this is bad news :(

i can get to the same point in the bruincard link but i cant see my financial aid info :(((

D:
For financial aid, all I can see is that I have turned in my FAFSA; its not even complete yet since they’re waiting for a tax estimate or something.
The bruincard thing sucks, I was checking it earlier today and it was okay and all of a sudden I can’t access it at all!

Why must ucla torture us this way?!
How hard is it to give us a definite day? Even though there was an increase in freshman applications they still managed to give them their decisions the same time as last year, so I don’t see why they can’t do the same for us

are any of you from norcal?

for the bruincard link i can even go a step further and upload a picture (step 1). Can you get to the same page?

I just don’t get why I could access it earlier and now just a few hours later it’s gone. Really discouraging…

don’t worry, i still can’t see my fin aid so i doubt it means much…

Its gonna suck when today passes with no word…

Are there any strong applicants who do not see financial aid…like, a 4.0 with TAP applying to a major with a 3.5 average?

I don’t know if this is bad news or not, but I don’t even have access to an URSA account? I didn’t file a FAFSA because my parents make waaaaaay too much money for us to qualify for any sort of financial aid, but I don’t even know what URSA is for, so I’m not sure if that’s the reason why. Anyways, here are my stats:

-CC transfer applicant (Applied to UCLA, Cal, UCDavis, Columbia University, Accepted into UCSD)
-Political Science Major
-4.0 GPA
-Regents invite
-All Pre-reqs complete (for Polisci and history)
-IGETC certified
-no TAP
-concurrent enrollment student at UC Berkeley (received one of the highest 5 grades in my HIST-4A class)
-graduated from high school after junior year
-59 Semester units (88.5 quarter units) from community college, 16 quarter units from AP tests, 12 semester units (18 quarter units) from UC Berkeley
-----(I talked to a few UCLA admissions people and they said that although my total number of units seems to exceed the maximum transfer cap, my UCB units will actually not be factored into the 105 community college quarter units limit, but will rather be added in separately, as if I were to have taken those classes after transfer.)

-Ridiculously strong essays (edited by Ancient History department head at UC Berkeley and by USC admissions officer [family friend])
-strong extracurriculars (leadership, music, clubs, student government, tutoring, tennis coach, volunteer work, Phi Theta Kappa)

Just wondering if anyone could chance me/tell me if my inability to access URSA is indicative of bad news?
