2011 UCLA Transfers: The Central Thread for Discussion and Decisions

^^ Are you serious? Chance you? It sounds like you are golden!!! I think the URSA is only indicative if it DOES show up. It looks like the possibilities of acceptance are incredibly high if you can see your financial aid. On another note, it appears as though it NOT showing up for you is not indicative of anything but rather that they have not approached your financial aid status yet.

Breath deep!! You’re fine :)

Oh sweet, thanks!! This whole URSA deal has really been making me nervous. D:

omgahhhh lemme in or shut the door on me, don’t just leave me standing at the doooor

just threw up…

well, it looks like i can apply for a bruincard but i never tried before so i’m not sure if it really means anything

Don’t even trip mate. Only the top 1.5% of applicants got invited for the Regents, so it’s safe to say you are in. It is probably not showing up because of that. It takes them a bit longer to decide the Regents awardees because they actually review each cantidate, unlike the other UCs that just award it to the top without any holistic review.

@nick_scheu:
I do not see Financial Aid.
My stats are:
Philosophy major
TAP (completed CCC honors program)
3.94 GPA
Regents scholarship invitee
IGETC certified
I completed my community college coursework while working a 40-hour week management job and taking part in Student Government, so I’d say I am a pretty strong applicant.

@1235192:
Why on earth are you trying for UCLA? You should have shot for an Ivy with that academic resume. Actually, why on earth are you at a CCC? I don’t know anyone with that much AP credit who didn’t go straight to a University.

It’s funny to look at Page 43 of this thread right now. Nearly every poster still shows up as “online” with that yellow icon on the bottom left.

Can anyone go to the fin. aid page, but cannot see award? I guess on the doc tracking they received my fafsa on 4/15 but underneath my estimated tax status on fafsa is blank…
status incomplete…Wonder if this is something I screwed up, or if they for some reason do those things one at a time.

That’s exactly what I have
but I figured it was because I haven’t updated my parents tax stuff on the FAFSA yet…
but I have the same exact thing as you.

I just see my financial aid summary, no awards…

does anyone have an access to MyUCLA?
It lets me go through and shows the main page for MyUCLA and it seems I can use most of its functions.
and It does show my major, but unlike others from previous years it wouldn’t say that I’m an admitted student but rather says that I’m enrolled in an unknown session.
does anyone see the same thing?

To be honest, I don’t really like cold weather, so the east coast is really not the place for me. I was considering applying to Ivies, but the transfer acceptance rate is close to zero, and so I didn’t want to be super bummed if admissions didn’t turn out the way I had hoped. As of now, I’m planning on going to a UC for my undergraduate degree, getting some work/internship experience, and then going to an Ivy League school for a graduate program/law school.

And I’m at a community college because I felt like graduating early, so I didn’t really have any options… :P

@PWSKHCI:
I think the MyUCLA change means something good. Up until yesterday my personal MyUCLA page said “Summer Sessions Student”, as I had enrolled in some summer courses. As of today, however, it has changed to show my selected major, and “Unknown Session”. So I think that means we’re in mate.

just called the admissions office and they said decisions would hopefully be out the beginning of next week

Too bad their isn’t a chat room on here.

When I try to access MyUCLA it just says I’ve been signed out *** >.>

Next week, huh? ■■■…

@E23LC- are you sure?

But I just tried calling the UCLA Admissions office, and representatives are only available from 1PM-4PM (which are the hours listed on the site as well). Sooooo, either E23LC is making it up, or he actually got through to one of the admissions officers.
