2012 April ACT General Discussion

What name change?

wasn’t one of the options of the question: batallia refused to elaborate on all of the following except: related to changing the name of t he family?

he did elaborate on that, he said it was a better name then the one they had b4 because it was patriotic I think…

yeah…but do you remmeber the exact wording of that answer choice?

Toby1380: Good point. That just clicked with me.

Yes that is why

actstudent, do you remmeber how the answer choice about name changing was worded?

Which of the following did Jack NOT do according to the passage or something.

Edit: Nvm, talking about a different question here, lol.

It was just like “why the name changed.” I don’t think anything more specific than that. But they did explain why so that wasn’t the correct answer choice

Did we get clarification on the salmon one?

The question was, which option allows the writer to talk about salmon in general…

would the answer have been "… salmon, typically…,

One with the comma. Without the comma, it’ll be talking specifically about salmons that are typically … in …s, I think. THat’s what I put.

It was like “salmon, typically held in netted pens, are…” so the comma was needed.

I thought science was far easier than last time… but I’m sure that’s because last time I didn’t even look at the passages. You see, the “Real ACT” practice test book trolled me hard. The 1st 2 science sections (the ones I did) were so easy that I didn’t even have to read the passages. I came to test day thinking the same way…and I got a 28 on the science, which lowered my 33 to a 32. Go Figure.

so the option with commas was NO CHANGE right

You guys have great memory… I can’t remember over half the questions.

Haha I have decent memory of the math and reading sections, but I couldn’t tell you what I put on the science or English sections.

You kids are funny. My son comes home from these tests and completely puts them out of his mind. An hour later I doubt he’d be able to remember one question.

For the beginning of the Science section, I got around 4 straight MCs. Please tell me I’m not the only one with this strange pattern?

I got the same pattern, kitkat.:)

in the beginning i had a patch of 5 with 4 of the same, i think… but not 4 in a row.
