2012 Engineering and Physical Sciences Admission Results

@zenker11: Thanks, much appreciated! I applied in early December and they notified me by email last Wednesday afternoon (the letter that they attached to the email was dated last Monday though). I checked up on your stats and they look solid enough (congrats on the acceptances you have btw), so hopefully they’re doing acceptances in batches and you get good news too.

hi dauntless, I did some digging, and found your stats to be similar to mine. But you mentioned that you have a famous professor vouching for you. Do you have any advice or insight that can help me prepare myself? thanks

9000yearoldvegan you got perfect scores from the top engineering institution with first author publications. You’re pretty much accepted to all those programs. Congrats.

Yeah, um… All that stuff that 9000YearOldVegan said, but better. K thanks

9001 > 9000 it’s over 9000!! Sigh reddit is down :(

:( ahh don’t say that. Maybe I am a ■■■■■, but those are really my stats.

it looks like Berkeley/UCSF has sent out all invitations and rejections. gluck to all who got invitation. sorry for those who didn’t get one, but we’re having other schools coming up soon ;)

yea berkeley/ucsf bioe is done. 714 applicants this year, really competitive.

According to the Berkeley website, “For Fall 2011 we had approximately 500 applicants for about 68 admission slots” – meaning ~200 more than last year. Jesus.

my god…this is crazy. hope this won’t happen at other schools. otherwise, it would be waaayyy too competitive to get in anywhere.

maybe because of the nrc ranking came out last year…berkeley ranks super high.

@sarbruis: so did you get invitation from Berkeley?

ducphan89: I wish. I did get a phone acceptance from BU BME today, though, so that makes me feel a little better.

Oh, and about UW BioE: I believe they were planning to meet this week, but with all the snow and stuff, who knows. We’ll probably know before the end of the month, though.

congrats for BU phone call, and sorry about Berkeley :D. did BU call you in the middle of the day (and out of nowhere)? I just wanna know to make sure my phone would be in range next week, if I received phone call. phone signal when I’m on campus is usually weak and idk why.

oh, I didn’t apply to UW…I applied to WashU in St. Louis. from results of gradcafe last year, WUSTL called applicants Jan 23 sth. from the email I received from them before christmas, they will have meeting on Jan 23 or 24 sth. hoping to hear back from them next week…
