2012 Going off wait list

I noticed a 2011 thread and thought I would get one started for 2012.
Is it too early? I have hope.
Please post if you are wait listed and let us know when you hear back and we can try and keep track.
Good luck to all!

D2 was waitlisted at 2 schools…we decided not to ‘wait’, D2 said if she wasn’t good enough for the college to admit RD,and they usually admit significantly more then they actually yield, she decided to go elswhere… I have a feeling she would have gotten into one of the schools…i also wonder if the waitlist is stocked with full pays, or nearly full pays…

S was waitlisted at CMU’s SCS and Tufts - he accepted the waitlist for CMU and I’m trying to convince him to do the same at Tufts. He’s hesitant because he thinks it will make things more complicated, and he’s already confused.

megan:

re: Tufts. T is need-aware in admissions, so if you applied for aid, getting off the WL is unlikely and probably not worth pursuing. OTOH, if you are full pay, and he is interested in pursuing the WL. let them know in a ‘Why Tufts?’ letter/essay.

Oh I have a lot to learn, I did not realize need was a factor in admissions-that is so unfortunate! Oh well Son has accepted UMinn but I feel his heart is at UofO so our fingers are crossed and no air trips have been scheduled yet. Hanging in there for Oregon-I hope they start soon after May 1!

Ok UofO -is going off the wait list

There is a thread listing schools which are already admitting students from the WL and others which have closed their lists:

Thank you hard knocks, I wondered why no one jumped on this one.:)
