shinannagans: congrat! which region are you at?

WOW congrats!

congrats shinannagans! at least even if I didn’t win, I can be happy for the rest of you

I don’t know whether I want to admire that attitude or go die, stressedoutt.
Sure I’ll be happy for the rest of you, but that’s not much consolation.

I don’t mean to hurt anyone’s feelings, of course – but you know what I mean? We all want to win, I’m assuming. A competition isn’t something you do for the sake of “participation”.

Maybe I’m just cynical and cold-hearted though

CONGRATS shinannagans!!!
Well done

@retro
The art world is a very competitive place so don’t apologize for that
It’s not like being on a team where you don’t take the blunt of the disappointment
When you lose in art, you lose by your hands and that can be one of the suckiest things to deal with.

haha, thanks for agreeing. I know we’re not meant to take rejection personally, but I think that that’s the only way to grow - it sucks, it hurts, but then you move on and in two months you actually accepts it sucks and do something infinitely better.

wow, i’m going to repost this because that was generally terrible:

so bluefire, thank you for agreeing. I know that we are not meant to take rejection personally, but in order to grow as artists, introspection and perspective are necessary. It sucks to be told that your work is not up to par, it hurts, but once you’ve moved on, you accept that your work wasn’t great and you’re able to discern that for yourself. Once you’ve passed that step of recognition, it is probably that your next piece of work will be considerably better.

see what i did there? reflection and growth from my mistakes. :)

anyone in ma maybe wanna pm me the MA art winners list (if you got one)? my sister did it too and idk about my stuff but hers were really good (i thought) and i want to know if she got anything!!!

Anyone heard yet?

@retro
How did you know you have not win anything? They will announce on Jan 30th, right? You may hear good news in a couple of days.

@Cherryli2015 i am from the east coast, new jersey and congratz to everyone else who won!! and never give up and remember that art cannot really be judged and it’s beautiful in any way, shape, or form ^^

Oh, I don’t know yet… I’m just preparing!

@retrohippo no, I get what you’re saying. I’ve felt like that before. but I try not to. I tend to be happier when I don’t think like that, although it’s easier to think like that :)

then again, I’m not sure how I’ll deal with losing if I do sooo… we’ll see what happens :)

Four days everyone!:)

Only summited in two catagories, short and short short story, then last week got an envelope with five dollars and a note saying a short short only costs $5 not $10, my short-story application must have dicipeared. Almost no chance of me compeating with kids who go for thoes fancy schools for the arts…
Well good luck to everyone else, I’ll try again next year. :)

Anyone know when california is notified? :/

you can check on the regional guidelines page

^Some regions (like mine) don’t post the results online. Speaking of which it has been WEEKS since they said they will tell I want to know what is taking them so long!

Just wondering, when they said that they would post Gold Key results on their website on the 30th, did that mean we will be getting an e-mail notification that day or before then. Thanks!:)

2 gold keys for 2 photography pieces, teacher hasn’t heard about portfolios yet
