2012 Transfer Chance Me! Thread

Hey…in January when you update your application with fall grades, does it show your total GPA? Because I dont remember seeing that when submitting my app :/

They calculate your GPA for you when they evaluate your application. You won’t see it but it’s fairly easy to calculate it for yourself if you have all CC classes (since you know what’s transferable).

Thank you :)

Qing: Your GPA is good even for an international student but you’re applying to Berkeley and I don’t think that’s enough for Berkeley. Do you want to apply to any other UCs?

Ah alright. Thanks for the information! Makes me worry a bit for myself yet gives me some hope in the fact that you managed to get in and the slight change in situation. Do you think the change in tag would lower or increase the GPA requirement? Also do you have any idea about alternate majors? Thanks for spending the time to help!

Please chance me, i know i did one before, but recently i got a 4.0 gpa in my 16 units classes. It boosts my gpa up to 3.6.

Apply into UCI (bus admin), UCB(bus admin), UCSD(Econ),UCR(bus admin)

prereq for all UCs are done.
igetc done
EC, intership with a high school, work as math T.A for 4 months. that pretty much sum it all :(.
Personal statement : pretty simple and decent.

chance? my main goal is to get in UCirvine as a business administration. Also i heard it’s very competive. How competive it is???

plus how bad is UCR for business? I heard it’s a big different compare to other UCs.

does anyone know if we get “unit credit” for HS language requirements that is satified with a C or higher?

yea you get credit. uchopeful

UC Berkeley is not my first choise, actually.
My first choise is UCSD.
I just heard statistics major in UC Berkeley is not very hard to get in, it has about 60% admission rate. SO I just want to give it a shot.
Do you guys think I can just try to apply UCLA and UC Berkeley? OR just save the money?

Hello, can anyone give me a realistic chance for admission?

GPA: 3.3 After Fall '11 receiving straight As. (Grade Trend)

EC: Multiple part-time jobs through high school as well as non-profit volunteering. 4 years military experience. I had other jobs to put down but ran out of space. I already submitted but in retrospect, I should have added them in additional comments.

Lived: I’d say in at all except Berk and UCLA. The rest don’t care about PRE Reqs completed UNLESS you’re major is impacted…which it isn’t.

Thank you all very much for your feedback. I was worried because of all the stellar stats being posted in here. I will still be worrying over admissions, but I’m feeling a little more at ease.

Lived: You’re welcome  I have the same exact stats as you…I’ve mentioned here that I have this one counselor who can predict whether you’ll get accepted into UCSB, UCI, UCR, UCSD… I have a 3.33 and a Sociology major and he said I’m 90% in at all. So you shouldn’t worry because your major isn’t impacted at UCSD…so do you know if it’s impacted at the other UCs?

Wow a psychic counselor, I need one of those. Well, as far as I know, I went for majors that were not impacted. That’s why I didn’t apply to econ programs.

OMG HAHA LIVEED I Am sorry, i didn’t read ur major before chance you. I THOUGHT you are POLITICAL SCIENCE MAJOR…
SORRY BUT Business major = impacted. but not in UCR, UCR is just selective.
