** 2012 UCSD Transfer Decisions Thread **

I’m happy for you adrie. Post what they said. I want to see if we have the same acceptance speech. :smiley:
I now understand your situation, ran. I was in the exact situation, I picked UCSD over USC because even though USC is more prestigious overall, the biochemistry program of UCSD is top 10 in the nation, so it would serve me better for when I plan to go to graduate school. It’s even better than UCLA for some reasons. I wasn’t accepted into UCLA, but it may work out for the best afterall. :)

@Funnyordie: here it is!
Welcome, adriecali. We are pleased you have accepted our offer of admission to UC San Diego!

Your college is Thurgood Marshall College.
Your major is International Studies-Econ.
We have received your Statement of Intent to Register.
The Statement of Legal Residence Form has been completed. :D

Yay, we’re in the same college!!! :smiley: We may see each other on campus someday. :wink:
I’m happy that you don’t have to wait another year. It’s such a huge relief to finally escape from CC. :)

@ Clamfest
I heard that USC has really good film major.

@kpxcsfcubt: Oh it definitely does. It’s also super hard to get into. Almost all the people that go in have previous experience. Kids whose parents are producers and such go there :I

*get in
lol
I’m already planning on grad school, so at least there’s still a chance I can get in that way haha

Do some student films should help, but it’s hard to break it in the industry if you don’t have connections.

yeah I should. Problem is, I’m really inexperienced in the hands on stuff. I’m more versed on theories and such :I Yeah it is really hard, but I’m determined! My best friend’s uncle is like an assistant director/producer for Robert Rodriguez so maybe I can mooch off of her haha xD

@Funnyordie: Yup we are! we will definitely cross paths on campus :slight_smile: I know right! I’m so excited :smiley:
oh btw the housing, orientation info and UCSD email hasn’t been released yet right? cos I couldn’t access mine :/

@Clam: I think it would be a good idea to ask your answer to bring you to work sometimes, you may get to meet notable directors.

@adriecali: No, they haven’t sent anything yet. I’m excited though and could care less about the finals since the grades will get reset once you get to UCSD. :D

@Funnyordie: oh alright, they just insist us on waiting some more huh! omg my finals is still in two weeks and I couldn’t even be bothered to do the assignments anymore let alone study for finals :P

We really care at this point though since we’re in already, just try to pass all the classes and we’re free. :D

You guys are still in school?! :open_mouth: my CC’s semester ended mid May!

^ mine ended in may too. Summer classes actually started today! haha

Can’t complain since this is my last week.

-Side Note: I find it funny that UCSD has the rep of being “socially dead” yet we have one of the most talkative forums. :P

lol good point Nitole

Just got my housing contract email! yay!

@Nitole

ironically, i find ucsd campus to be BEAUTIFUL when its empty-- all the buildings appear to be undistorted and wild; of course it doesn’t look too bad with cute lasses strolling around and smiling xD

i was at jpl this past weekend, and i had the strangest deja vu: it felt like i was at ucsd! i guess it might be from revelle’s initial envisioning of a university (comparable to caltech)

@clamfest: yup unfortunately we are! and i still have two weeks! :(

@Funnyordie: I’m so jealous.

@Nitole: I totally agree! lets live it up in SD once we get there! :D

Btw is everyone living in the village??
