Best of luck to those still waiting!

Right before my app was submitted I worked as an assistant editor intern for the new thirty seconds to mars - up in the air music video. It premiered today and my name is in the credits. If I don’t get in do you guys think that would be a good factor for an appeal?

I’m an RTF major

yeaa this wait is drivning my crazy & my friends keep asking me if im even still leaving and then we STILL have to find housing after we get accepted!

The more acceptances I see the more discouraged I get. it sucks!

Yeah RTF is one of the harder ones (after Business and Engineering) but when I spoke to a advisor on the phone she said the average for RTF last year was a 3.6.

Congratulations, Sabra! You’ve been admitted to The University of Texas at Austin.
You’ve been accepted for admission into the incoming class to the Applied Learning & Develpmnt: Ec-6 Generalist Certfctn major in the College of Education beginning in Fall 2013. Find out more about your admission.

3.7 gpa, I work at a school, I liked my essays, I had lots of volunteer experience at schools, five years work experience before I started college.

@jpgarcia6: When did you speak to the advisor? what did you ask?

sorry for bombarding you with questions i’m just so worried and your post helped me out a little bit :P

Don’t worry I’m in the same situation you are! I would be asking questions to. I spoke to them around mid-February but I did so many times (I had some questions about my application). I asked general questions about the application process (how to submit items mostly) but I always made sure to sneak in a chances question. Most of them said a 3.6 should be a good shot at RTF. It’s no guarantee but with very solid essays (which I believe I have) you should be good.

Plus you have that whole intern thing if you do get rejected. You are in a much situation than me.

Thanks for the info man, it helps a lot.

Well in all honesty I hope we both get in man. keep me posted and ill do the same for you. Our academic stats are pretty similar and you said you’re from CA as well right?

Na I’m not from CA. I’ve lived in Texas all my life.

Congrats, Saby! I knew you’d get in. :D

Do you guys think a 3.2 gpa is low enough that UT would revoke my acceptance??

UT can revoke acceptance???

I think they revoke if you don’t graduate from high school.

UT states on their transfer page that if their is a large drop in gpa after being admitted they can revoke it.

I doubt a 3.2 will be low enough for them to drop you. I’m pretty sure that mainly applies to if your GPA dropped to something like a 2.5.

@deadxpoetics- thanks. It feels really good.

@curlyfreak12 - If you don’t mind my prying, would you tell me what your important work experience was and what you wrote about on your essays/how strong you think they were? I’m asking because my GPA is in the same range as yours and I’m also coming from a 4-year university (UTSA). I too am held back by mediocre dual credit grades from HS (14 hours at a 3.21, almost all Bs except for one A). I will have 46 hours at the end of the semester and my GPA will be either a 3.5 or a 3.57. I also have had a variety of interesting jobs, including a job as an independent contractor/file clerk at a law firm as well as a job as a visual and music technician for a nearby nationally-recognized HS band. McCombs is likely out of the question but I’m still pushing for my second choice, which is COLA - Economics. I wrote 3 strong essays and had 3 letters of recommendation, one of which was from a McCombs alumni who I worked for at the law firm… As you can see, our backgrounds are curiously similar.

So I’m guessing they’re going to do CNS acceptances last?
