^If you’re using the American Pageant, you’re REALLY far behind.

We finished Chapter 19 of the Pageant before break and are assigned to read 20-22 over winter break. Lol, you know your class is stupid when your teacher wants you to self-learn the Civil War, one of the most important events in US history…

Edit: I just realized my APUSH class finished off exactly where we were when I posted in this thread one month ago. Just goes to show how we speed through like 5 chapters in a few days and then do nothing for several weeks.

lol, I go to a really competitive HS, so we are going to start ch. 27 after winter break, and had a huge test on ch. 23-26 the fri. before break… were using American pageant…=)

I currently have America’s History textbook along with Princeton’s Review book to help me study for the exam in May. I was wondering if I should try Amsco or other methods you have experienced that helped you get a 4 or 5 on the exam. I’m currently doing cornell notes for my daily reading but i find it inefficient so I was wondering what helped you. Also, if you have any advice for either preparing or during the exam will be greatly appreciated!! This is my first time taking an AP test and I want to be fully prepared. Thanks!!

Super excited to see this thread! So far I’ve found APUSH exceptionally easy, and have maintained a good A this entire semester. However we use the American Pageant, which I find especially boring. As for content we just finished the Civil War, and are hitting up chapters 27-32 (which is Grant, the “gilded age”, etc.) the first two weeks back.

I moved about two months into my school year and the difference between my old and new apush teachers are drastic. we literally do nothing in my new school… i don’t do any of the useless things that the teacher assigns. currently the class is “on” chapter 6 on “Out of Many” (1750-1776). They haven’t got to the Revolutionary War yet. My guess is the teacher will skip 6 or 7 chapters at the end of this semester. Fortunately, I have access to all of my old school’s handouts via the internet and my much more adept (and preferred) teacher updates it regularly. I just finished Chapter 16 Conquest of the West out of Brinkley’s “American History: a Survey”. I am almost caught up with my old class.

Reading out of the Pageant, currently we are starting chapter 26 (Great West & Agriculture Revolution). I feel as if my class is a tad bit behind, however I have a kickass teacher so I’m sure I can catch up in no time. And also, I’ve completed 7 DBQs and 0 FRQs. Needless to say, DBQs are the bane of my existence. Ha.

Wow I never saw this thread. Definately subscribing. Do any of you guys have to write a book review because thats’s what I’ve been doing for the past 4 hours :)

do any of your teachers weight grades by category?

Like 50% Test 25% Quiz 10% HW and 15% Participation because our teacher does and it literally makes getting an A in the class impossible since DBQ’s go into the test portion without being weighted (class average is a 66%) so ya… :(

any tips on time saving point takers? maybe write all thesis’s for all essays first and then work on the supporting paragraphs? or is that a dumb idea

I’ve got a C+ from my essays. I’m a terrible APUSH essay writer…
Thankfully my teacher is merciful enough to allow an extra credit assignment. Unfortunately she grades those like essays so I’m kind of screwed.

Took final today and felt alright. I’ll updated you guys when homeaccess gets back up online (the website shuts down because to many people check their grades)
