2014 Decisions

I started a new thread for this year.

Someone just asked if anyone had heard their ED1 for 2014. These decisions should start arriving around December 15th.

From their website: ED1 should hear by Dec 15, ED2 should hear by Feb 15.

Yes, I read that too. I was just wondering if the decisions start coming in and are in “by” December15th or if they are all released “on” December 15th. I know the admissions office is working incredible hours this time of year, but was just hoping for a response by 12/15 and thought it possible because we have heard from EA schools which had the same deadline and are much larger schools. Basically, just anxious for my son who is clear that Stevens us where he wants to go.

By the way, other schools have sent him congratulatory e-mails? Is this the norm? Will he be informed of the Stevens decision via e-mail or should he be checking the mailbox? I recall the old anxiety about thick and thin envelopes…

If I recall correctly, my other son got his decision in the mail, and it was either right on the date listed on the website or the day after.

I think a lot of schools send congratulatory emails, but the ones we have received so far came after the official online decisions.

Thanks for the info!

Still haven’t heard yet either…hoping to hear on Sunday!

Do you think it is possible that an email would come on Sunday? I never thought of that. I just figured we would hear the beginning of next week.

Also waiting to hear soon!
A while ago my son received an email that said that they had received his application and to be on the lookout for an email with login instructions to check his application status online. So far he has not received this email…has anyone else?

Pikabhu-same for D-midNov Login to check status online. Nothing yet.

Haven’t heard anything.

Same here, son received acknowledgement of application submission but no login for status checking.

Got a phone call today from an admissions counselor informing me of my acceptance to Stevens Institute of Technology, class of 2018 ! She explained that there was a technical error with the mailing system and said that I wouldn’t receive my acceptance package until the middle of next week. Good luck to everyone!

My son also received a phone call. So nice of them to call personally…he is thrilled!

Yes, phone call also. Financial award will arrive next week.

I asked the caller a few questions. She said that they had 50% more ED1 applications this year than last year. She also said that they had to turn away a lot of very strong candidates last year during the regular decision round.

Other info: top 10% of applicants offered Stevens Scholars (if you do not get in, you can apply for Scholars after your first semester if you get a 3.8 or greater GPA.)

Wow…50%…that is big. It is a good thing he applied ED.
Rualum, do you have a son at Stevens already?

yes, i do.

I do not have the cell phone that they called me on earlier today. Although I was able to listen to the voice mail my counselor left, saying to call back at his number regrading the status of my application. I work 3 pm-9 pm on Sat, so I told him that if he called before 2pm that would be great. I work two jobs on Sunday so I have no down time at home (aka where my house phone is to receive a call). Monday I have a Board Meeting for the Youth Trustees at my local Science Center, and will not be home until around 6:30 pm. Tuesday I am attending a Town Hall meeting for my Government project. I really hope I will be able to communicate with him soon! I am so nervous .-. If anything I can ask to call during school, as in lunch or any free period. Should I email him at some point?

I would email your counselor now and tell him what happened. He may check his mail during the weekend.

So you’ll have two at Stevens at once…any words of wisdom regarding dorms?
Are dorms available for the full 4 years on campus?

Okay I shall email him! Thank you,
