2014 MIT Early Action Countdown Thread

its a good time to be a djokovic fan lol he did really well this hard court season, even beat r-fed

@ChargerFans
What sport does your son play?
I see that he has achieved a lot of success in it, so congratulations.
Also, he takes 12 classes?! @_@ props to him for doing that, I’m only allowed 7 classes max by my schedule and I am not complaining

No, what I meant is he’s taken 7 AP classes and 5 Honors Classes during his high school years.

Djokovic rocks, I stayed by his side even though he had a lame year in 2008/2009 ish.

Caltech results come out saturday, who’s excited? :D

@ dosoon and molliebatmit

Thanks for the info :)

Woo Caltech+MIT results soon

Anyone else get a email from the admissions department today?

@bobwrit: Yup. I almost fell off the couch in a panic when I saw it. No worries though. :)

@Chargefans Congrats to your son. It looks like he is a great student and an amazing athlete. I am sure MIT will appreciate to have a student well balanced like him. Good luck.

When I was logging in to the decisions website, just to do the confirmation thing like the blogs and email advised, I started crying. I am so lame.

hey what is everyone doing in order to try to take their mind off of 12/16?
i can’t seem to stop thinking about it.

I’m studying. And watching my Caltech timer count down ;)

Has anyone seen the Columbia and Cornell results? Terrifying.

@trf1021
I saw the Columbia and Cornell results. Did you see how many rejections Columbia had? I am scared out of my mind. I swear I saw a total of about 5 acceptances out of that 8-9 page thread! I’m scared - really scared.

But then again, those schools are known for having fewer students deferred. Unlike places like MIT, where most of the students are deferred from early action w/ only a few accepted/rejected.

did everyone here get an email about when to check acceptances? I havn’t gotten anything!

really? my school had one columbia admit (one reject) and three cornell admits (no rejects that i know of). hm.

@aznjunior
go to decisions.mit.edu and try to log in using your myMIT account.
If you can confirm it logs in and you are able to check your decisions on December 16th it’s just as good as getting an email.

@Elanorci
What school in Houston do you go to? Those acceptance rates are mighty beastly.

i checked… it confirms me

Is there a really large likelihood of deferral for almost anyone in the applicant pool? Why can’t MIT be more upfront about whether they want you or not? Not a huge fan of the stringing out…
