2014 RD Applicants

RD from Wisconsin, interested in International Studies, English, Anthropology, Linguistics and traveling, in general.
In terms of sports, I’m an intramural woman to the core, so probably no division 3 sports. Then again, one never knows.

RD from Pennsylvania. Right now I’m mainly interested in international studies.

RD applicant from North Carolina. Trying to study Philosophy, maybe Pre-Law. Does anyone know what day decisions come out?

They say no later than the 31st. So I’m guessing the post mark the letters before then, but I’m not positive.

of March. Sorry!

Did anyone else receive a 2009-2010 course catalogue? It seems a little strange that they would send one in the mail with nothing attached to it, especially to students that have already applied. If you have, did you see any interesting courses within? I’m probably going to look through it tonight.

I didn’t receive a course catalogue (then again, I’m away from home this week, so nvm), but I’ve looked through it online at some length. I can’t imagine having to narrow down my choices to 4-5 per semester! Way too much I want to learn…

Everybody who applied to Macalester in my class got the course book, so I think everyone who applies gets one. The day after we received them we all walked into class and asked each other and realized “oh, so it wasn’t a hint at my acceptance after all…” :stuck_out_tongue:
It is surprising, if you think about how many RD applicants there are. That’s quite a bit of paper!

RD from Virginia; into international relations or history

any international student got admission letters yet?

Nope. Does anyone by any chance know how they’re released? Like, do internationals get emails or do they have to wait for snail mail/call seven days after the decision date?

I received my letter in the mail- I was waitlisted. It’s okay though… I didn’t put very much effort into my application.

Good luck to everyone else! :)

Oh felicitywut, don’t lose hope :). You should keep waiting! By the way, are you American or Intl? I haven’t received any letter yet

can anyone post their stats so i have some kind of vague idea, here? D: :stuck_out_tongue: pretty please? :]

I’m getting suspicious of Mac’s commitment to environmentalism. They sent me about five letters notifying me of my missing Mid-Year Report in January and I’m like…“I know Mac…my semester isn’t over yet.” When they have all that information easily accessible online, it seems like a complete waste. What are they doing?!

There is a real disconnect between Mac’s environmental rhetoric and its admissions department! Throughout this whole process, no school has sent as much mail as Macalester. The final straw came when they sent the catalog in the mail recently. Hello, we can get this info online! (Plus, we had taken one when we visited!)

I did like the postcards!

@cinderella0201, I’m American. I’m really not overly upset about the result. The letter they sent me was nice, and from what I understand they had more freshmen last year than they were expecting, which means fewer openings this year. I didn’t interview or visit (even though I live about 4 hours away), and I kind of threw together my essay at the last minute. Mac wasn’t my first choice, but I liked it and I kind of just wanted to see if I’d get in or not =p

I hope that I get it in the mail today… anxiously waiting here!

haha congrats too all- I was rejected!

thought that would be the outcome; ive had an amazing upward trend but my gpa is a 3.4…
