2014 SDSU Transfer Decisions - POST HERE!

My counselor never told me about that required class too. I’m a business major though.

Major -Communications (AA-T)
Decision -Pending
Location -Southern California
GPA -3.57

So I have been very diligent with visiting my transfer center at my cc to make sure that I didnt have to submit anything to verify my AA-T in communications after I petitioned for it in February. They told me that no action was required from me but I just found out that the AA-T preliminary verification was due March 15th?! I went back to my counselors and they said that my school has not yet sent out that verifications to students so I have no idea what to do now. Anyone else experiencing this problem? Will this interfere with me getting accepted?

@haleylynn04 It will interfere with your acceptance. I’ve spoken to several different counselors at my CC because realistically, not every counselor has the most accurate and RECENT information on transferring, which is why getting multiple counselor’s opinions and even calling SDSU admissions/evaluations is a great idea!

I was also told not to do ANYTHING except petition back in Feb like you, but I was seeing the whole March 15 verification thing around this forum, too.

With that said, you NEED to send some sort of verification form stating that you will earn the AS-T. Check with your school ASAP to confirm that you are on their “master list” of students earning the AS/AA-T for spring 2014. They should’ve provided you with a verification form which you can sign…but I’ve seen that some schools are different, so in that case I’ve seen many students have their counselor call SDSU and verify it over the phone, counselors can write an e-mail verifying it (least recommended), if you DO get that form from your evaluations office at your CC, fax it to SDSU’s admissions office, or personally go in and hand it in at the prospective student center at SDSU. I was also told by an evaluator at SDSU that you can fax over the actual petition you filled out back in February if all else fails…that’ll work as proof, too.

Saturday was the deadline but I’m sure they’ll still accept it these next couple days. Do not delay! They need these verifications before they can evaluate our applications. Good luck!

@simplylovely @nthoside it is only a prerequisite for criminal justice majors but I never knew about this nor did I find it anywhere on their website. You should probably call SDSU admissions to see if there are any prerequisites for your major. Now that I think about it I was asked on my supplemental app if I took the class to which I just replied no since I didn’t think it was a requirement.

i just found it. not on the admissions website but on the sdsu criminal justice webpage. has anybody heard of someone getting admitted missing a prereq or maybe getting admission on their alternate major? my alternate major was women’s studies and if i got accepted with that i could just change my major after taking the missing class.

I do not have an AS-T, I am hoping I won’t need one considering I exceed all requirements for TAG.

Did anybody here who applied to SDSU also apply to San Marcos? I just got denied by San Marcos and I figured it was easier to get into then SDSU :/

@nannlove I just got denied by csusm too haha whaaat… Maybe because it’s not my local csu. I only applied to SDSU and San Marcos. I also thought it would be easier to get in there. It was my backup, too. Oh well. are you going to ask why you didn’t get accepted?

@christinedoz they said in the link that they’d email us the reason why we didn’t get accepted. i’m no where near local i live about 6 hrs. north pretty close to UC Merced and CSU Stanislaus but want to get out of the area badly. lol. are you getting an AA-T or AS-T? i heard if you don’t get accepted to at least one school you applied to they refer your application to another school that can make room for you.

Yeah I have the AS-T. I heard the same thing except that they would refer my application to a local CSU. I think the nearest school after SDSU is CSUSM so since I didn’t get in there, hopefully that referral won’t take me somewhere too far from here. I’m trying to stay in the local area…I really hope SDSU accepts me

@christinedoz Your application can be rerouted to any CSU that can accommodate you. I am not sure of the way it works, but the way I picture it happening is that all the AS/AA-T applicants that were denied by the CSU they applied to are put on a master list with their stats/major. Then CSUs pick students from that list to fill open spots at their school. I would guess those with low stats and highly popular majors are picked last. I don’t know if this is how it actually works, it is just a theory. :)

Welp. Seems fair enough. Let’s see what happens. Anyone hear from SDSU yet?

yeah i’m really hoping for sdsu too. i got accepted to cal state l.a. but would love to live in san diego not only because it’s beautiful but also my bf lives there and we’ve been long distance since last year and it sucks. local for me would be csu stanislaus but i would definitely move to LA rather then stay here in the valley. i do have an AS-T but am missing one prereq class for my major because it is impacted. hopefully that doesn’t hurt me too much since i have everything else. good luck to you!

anybody get admission decisions today?

Still pending…

@christinedoz just got my denial email from san marcos. basically because they’re so impacted they had to use my gpa and last school attended to determine my admission. my CC is merced college and my gpa is at a 2.9. which means you have a really good shot considering you’re local and your gpa is most likely higher than mine.

CSUSM was also my back up school and I just got my denial email. Rough. SDSU is also the only other school I applied to and my top choice so now I’m extra freaking out. Hoping they’ll send out AA-T/AS-T decisions soon!!!

@nannlove YUP. Just got my denial e-mail, too. Said the exact same thing as yours. And @simplylovely I only applied to those two schools as well so I basically NEED to get accepted to SDSU because I really don’t want to do another year of cc…stay hopeful guys :(

i just got a denial from San Marcos today. I’m sooooo glad that it wasn’t the only school I applied to. But since I got denied there, I’m expecting a denial from SDSU now too. Good luck guys!

@lynn562 what are your stats? Just because you didn’t get in CSUSM doesn’t mean you won’t get into SDSU.
