2014 SDSU Transfer Decisions - POST HERE!

hi there guys, im transferring to sdsu as a computer science major. quick question i finish all of my major preps and everything require for the tag program. Is the tag program a for sure thing. honestly i been checking everyday ha ha.

Yes. I tagged sb and my advisor in the transfer academy said that If i meet all the tag requirements them i am automatically in, but they still send you confirmation withEveryone else

so pretty much its a for sure thing then. if you are in the tag program right? If it is, it would be really reassuring for me. thanks alot

Yes, for sure 100%. As long as you keep your gpa up in spring and have atleast 30 credits at cc, and all required classes . You are definitely in. So even though you don’t get your acceptance email until regular transfer decision… Know with confidence you are in, that is what my transfer advisor, in the transfer academy, at sbcc just recently told me.

major: Business Administration
gpa: 3.94
igetc will be completed by spring but il be missing two of the major prep courses.
So I am pretty nervous. I know business majors have gotten in while missing one but im not sure about two -_- (crossing fingers)

Decision: Pending (still… the anticipation is killing me)
Major: Pre-Health Communication
Location: I’ve done all of my major prep at SBCC, where I am now, but I have many other units (I’m at 89) from community colleges in the bay area and from University of Oregon.
GPA- 3.18 … Major GPA is 4.0

I was a bio major, which can mostly explain my low GPA. I’ve been trying to bring it up.

I will have my AA-T in Communications, and will have finished IGETC by the end of this semester.

Anyone else Communications?

Major - Business Administration (Information Systems)
Decision - Pending
Location - Out Of State- New Jersey
GPA - 3.45

Completed Golden Four. All Gen Eds completed. Major pre not completed.

I was only able to take two classes out of the major pre rep. I feel as if I have no shot. Thoughts?

@ajmarr I’m also in the same major as you

@christinedoz great! what are your stats/location?

@ajmarr

Major: Pre-Health Communication
Decision: Pending

Location: Local In-service Area (Chula Vista) I’m going to Southwestern College
GPA: 3.19, Major GPA: 4.0 but I don’t think they’ll know that lol

GPA is the only thing scaring me. I have the AA-T degree for Communication Studies like you, but were you able to officially verify it with SDSU yet? I’ve submitted the request form to my community college so they can verify I am completing the degree, and I’m just waiting on them to give me an official document so I can send them to the CSU’s I applied to. Problem is idk when SDSU’s deadline is for that form?? I can’t find it on their website. My college said they’d send it to us by March 14, but doesn’t that mean SDSU will take longer to decide my admission status if they’re waiting for the verification? I’m confused

@chistindoz

Your supposed to verify whether or not your obtaining a degree for transfer on the supplemental application that was due back in February. SDSU doesn’t ask for any official papers or verification until after your accepted so I wouldn’t worry too much about it as long as you marked that you were getting the degree on the supplemental.

As far as GPA goes, I’m kind of in the same boat, have a 3.33 overall with 80 Units completed, though I have a 4.0 in all major courses. I’m already thinking ahead to my appeal as I’m pretty sure anything less than a 3.6 for Business Admin is gonna be tough to get in with.

@christinedoz From what I remember in SDSU’s supplemental application, the AA-T degree confirmation evaluations had to be submitted by March 15th. I think that means SDSU admissions office has to receive it by then, so if I were you I’d try to get your current school to speed up the process.

the deadline for telling the school you were receiving an AA-T Degrees was beginning of January, unfortunately. Sorry if you missed that deadline

@dancenfool it was definitely Feb. 7th, not beginning of January. @tyblackca is right.

You were supposed to TELL SDSU about your AA/AS-T on your supplemental application, however, the deadline for your CC to submit verification is March 15th. I am not sure if that means it must be postmarked or in the hands of SDSU admissions by then.

Those of your transferring with an AA/AS-T, there IS an additional step in the verification process and the deadline is quickly approaching. If you are unsure of whether or not your school will submit the verification on your behalf, you need to contact them immediately!

^truth

Does anyone know when transfer decisions will be released? I know freshman decisions have been going out since last Thursday night. Really wish transfer decisions would’ve been released first. Refreshing to see ‘Pending’ everyday is driving me insane.

@Raven12am I spoke with someone from the prospective students undergrad admissions office a few hours ago. She said there’s no exact time but that decisions will be sent out “early this week”. I don’t know exactly what that means but I’m expecting before Thursday night by the latest from what she told me.

@sdsu2014 Sounds good. Thanks for the quick response.

I go to San Diego city college and will be receiving my AA-T in psychology this semester. SDSU is my top choice so I hope I get in! My transferable GPA is a 3.45.
I was just discussing the process again for the AA-T with my counselor (to double check) and whatever verifications or documents that you need to submit, SDSU will ask you for them. so as long as right now the school knows all your self reported information and that you will indeed be getting your AA-T, you should be in good hands from my knowledge.
