@justinUC I can’t remember what your GPA is but I think it is high. Anyhow, I can’t imagine one P/NP from CC will impact any later decision in your life. My daughter did 3, all non-related to her major, so she could ensure her GPA. After your two years at a UC I just don’t see much impact, assuming you maintain a high GPA at the UC.

@Lindk8 Is your younger daughter also going to transfer?

@CollegeDropout1
Not sure yet. She will not be a senior in HS until next year. Her GPA is possibly OK for mid-tier but the SATs are a hurdle.

She’ll probably apply and if it doesn’t pan out, go to CCC. She’s getting more and more interested in UCLA but that would only be a possibility via CCC, so we’ll see.

Merci @Cayton et @lindyk8

I have 2 quizzes before the P/NP deadline so I’ll see where I’m at that week of. 10 Quizzes, 6 Written Assignments, and the Midterm/Final exams, 2.5 easiness rating wasn’t kidding smh lol

I have a question on TAP:

Do I need also need to record the classes that are “In Process” for 2014 fall? and “planed classes” for spring 2015 when I submit TAP application?

Thank you

srry, actually it is “TAG” lol

Yes, you do need to include in process and planned coursework in the TAP/TAG.

@luckie1367

what if my planned course changed in spring 2015?

To be completely honest, I don’t know. I bet @Cayton does, so I will see what he says.

Personally, I’m just putting my best guess based off what has been available in the past and what I still need.

You just update the changes in TAU - transfer admissions update - in January 2015.

So my question is if I am accepted, but there’s a stipulation that I must complete one of my planned courses in spring, will the university tell me? For example I plan to take BIOL210A at my school in spring. If I must take that course to transfer will they tell me in my acceptance letter so I know at all costs I need to finagle my way in (its VERY impacted), or will I just get rescinded after TAU?

Is it a major req? If so you need to get it completed or face serious consequences, as in not getting admitted (esp if impacted). If it is merely recommended for major, you may get through, but again there will be others who have completed it - and it was offered at your CCC. It would depend on the rest of your record and their arbitrary decision.

If it is IGETC and you said it was completed, you are now saying it will not be complete, and if the major is impacted, it makes you less competitive, with a good chance of not getting admitted.

If that happens, I would call the school to double check. My feeling is that if you put the class as planned, they will want you to take it. And, like lindy said, if its for IGETC or a major prereq you need to complete it.

You won’t get an acceptance until after the Spring semester is in full swing. Last year I believe the decisions came out April 18. By that time it’s too late to change classes. They admit you based on what you say in the update in January.

@piano1900

I’m not sure, but I imagine you’d just notify the school you’re tagging to. I don’t think they like TAG applicants changing their planned schedules, though. Could be wrong. though.

@Bear87

Hmm, I doubt they’ll care about that specific class if you couldn’t get in. As long as you complete GE, major, and unit requirements, you should be fine.

You can put pretty much any classes you want for spring 2015 in the TAG app. You’ll be updating your coursework for the spring in January and whatever you put there, they will see it with your TAG app. Just make sure to follow everything on the checklist and you’re golden for TAG.

Question about links. I’m considering positing a couple links in my application to a few interviews I did for a prior company I worked for. I was on Fox News, CBS and NBC news programs speaking about a topic related to the business I was in. Would that be a good idea, or no? Would they even bother clicking the links to watch a youtube video?

@fullload How on earth did you get on those channels?

I was in a very unique field of work for the business I was in, so when that topic was hot at the time and my company was asked to speak on the topic, I was asked to handle the interviews. Only like 1-3 minutes each time, but I thought it might be something unique for the UCs to see?

It is recommended at several UC’s. It’s not mandatory at any. But that makes sense about them deciding so far ion spring quarter that by then they’ll be de
