2015 Coca Cola Semifinalists

For those of you who have advanced to the regional finalist round from states not in the northeast, is there a separate location you can do the in person interview at? I’m a regional finalist from CT and I’ll be going to New York City for mine, but I’m just curious if someone from say, California, would have to travel to NYC if they want an in person interview.

Yeah, in the south, you can go to Rice University for in person or do online through Skype! @1600mpenn

@1600mPenn Anyone near Washington D.C. will be able to go there for their interview.

RF from Idaho!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH

Also if you’re in the midwest there’s Chicago. Any interviewing tips?

I’m from North Carolina and we’re headed to D.C (about 5 hours) for my interview! So freakin excited!

Alright thanks guys that makes more sense. I didn’t think it would be fair to make everyone come to NYC.

Regional Finalist from Pennsylvania

@AlexHarper Hey! I’ll be there. What time is your interview?

@MoreSpaceFunding‌ Hey! Mine is as 2:00pm!

@alexharper Nice; I have mine in the morning. I live close to D.C. so I will take a train ride there and explore for a few hours before going back. Hopefully I can meet some other potential scholars!

Do you guys have the option to interview online? If so, why are you bothering to travel 5+ hours? I’m a bit confused.

I’m with @Nobody426‌ on this. In the email it says that there is no advantage in interviewing in person.

@Jalaquan‌ I agree; I would not travel five hours for an in-person interview. Luckily, I live less than an hour away from D.C., so I will go there.

Don’t be confused, everyone can chill. @nobody426 @jalaquan @morespacefunding

I’m traveling to D.C to 1.) Have my interview because I’m the type of person that likes to have face to face interviews and feel like I would do better in an in-person interview. 2) I absolutely LOVE Washington D.C! It’s my favorite city in the United States and an opportunity to go there is amazing to me! 3.) We’re going up to Maryland to visit my sick grandmother :frowning: It just kind of happened that way.

Please don’t be bothered or confused, I have reasons other than the interview to travel so far. I’d appreciate not getting attacked for my decision to have an in-person interview…

@AlexHarper‌ It’s all good! I didn’t mean to come off as attacking you; your decision is yours alone and you don’t have to explain yourself.

By the way, how long will everyone be in D.C. after their interview? I interned in D.C. this past summer so I was able to find some great places for coffee and lunch. It would be nice to hang out and learn more about everyone!

@AlexHarper‌ I just wanted to know if you had information that we didn’t know of. I apologize if you felt attacked :(. I didn’t mean for it come off that way.

I’m a regional finalist from DE. Anyone going up to Philly for an interview?

@jalaquan @morespacefunding It’s all good, let’s move on. I’ll be in Washington D.C from February 6- February 8th! Also best of luck to everyone, I imagine you all want this as much as I do!
