2015 SDSU Transfer Decisions

I live in Los Angeles and was accepted to CSUSM, but in January.

@alchemistress What is your major?

@raychill89 Biochemistry

@alchemistress Congratulations on your acceptance!

I just found this on their site:

"California State University San Marcos will have limited space for Fall 2015 admission due to State University enrollment management directives. All applicants are strongly encouraged to apply for admission to multiple institutions.

CSU San Marcos will accommodate new first time freshman and upper division transfer applicants from our local admissions area – north of highway 56 in San Diego County extending to southern Orange County and southwestern Riverside County." http://www.csusm.edu/admissions/impaction/

Unfortunately for all those south of the 56 down here in San Diego, we were automatically rejected admission this year.

I just got the same rejection as everyone else. I was a little surprised, but am glad I wasn’t the only one. My ego is a little hurt, but I didn’t want to go there anyways. Let’s all stay positive about state.

I got accepted to SJSU a couple weeks ago, but I would rather go to SDSU

Major - Economics (Public Policy)
Location -Grossmont
GPA -3.13
AA/AS-T? N/A

I’m a little late to the party but am anxiously waiting to hear back from SDSU. Made the mistake of only applying to SDSU and am surely regretting it now.

I agree @Impatient1 !!

I hope to be throwing a virtual party with our acceptances :slight_smile: LOL.

Also denied from CSUSM! Local to San Diego with a PSYC AA-T. Very Anxious about SDSU now :neutral_face: If I do not get accepted I do not know what to do!! GPA: 3.7. I wonder how many San Marcos is denying from SDCCD?

@anna896 I think CSUSM is denying us all (SDCCD transfer applicants and those outside of their local area). I posted something here up above that I got off their site today stating that they will not be admitting transfer students outside of their local area this year due to impaction.

I read everyone’s post, never posted myself. I’m nervous and anxious like all of you.
Been accepted to Long Beach and Cal Poly SLO, goal is SDSU. Good look to all, my major is philosophy and biochemistry. I’m from Northern California; Las Positas College so out of the region :neutral_face:

Hey there! I’ve been reading this forum for days, and I’m nervously waiting to hear back like the rest of you. Can’t stop checking the portal. I was already rejected from CSULB.

I’m a transfer student from a private liberal arts college
social work major
I have well over 60 transferable units
3.89 GPA
High SAT score (can’t remember the number off the top of my head)

By the end of this semester I will have all but one of the specific pre-requisites needed for the major. (taking them through SDCCD) I’m mostly worried because the one class I won’t have until end of summer (Social Work 120) might put me lower on the priority list. I was told by staff at SDSU that SW110 and 120 needed to be taken sequentially. That’s not true, I could be taking them both right now. But since I trusted SDSU and didn’t double check, I might have made myself a less viable candidate.

There’s an episode of Parks & Rec where Leslie Knope fills up two boxes while she’s waiting to hear back about something big. One box is full of things to help her celebrate good news, one box is full of things to help her cope with sad news. I’m trying to work on my boxes now haha

Good luck to you! Seems like you’re in a very good standing. I’m reading all these acceptance and denial situations from last years post. Argh.

Hey guys, this wait is killing me!

Major - Biology (Marine Biology/Zoology)
Location - San Diego CC District
GPA - 3.87
AA/AS-T? N/A

I have all of my general ed work complete but am missing one major requirement (bio stats) because it was not offered this semester at Miramar, Mesa, or City. However, like @akash0393 said, all of the acceptance and denial situations from last years forums have made me even more nervous. Between 2010-2011 I took 23 units at Saddleback College in Orange County and based on posts from last year I am afraid they will hold that against me, despite the fact that I have taken 70 units down here since. :confused:

Good luck everyone!

Hello guys,

Have any of you been accepted yet?
My major:Criminal justice
Emphasis:mex/american border
GPA:3.1

Been denied from CSUF & CSULB because Im not local

@alelii‌ I’m a criminal justice major with a 2.9 gpa and as-t after this semester. Have you finished all of your prerequisites?

@Akash0393‌ and @meg1010‌ could you share a link to the forum where you’re reading about last year? Was there stuff that surprised you their about the denial and acceptance decisions?

Nevermind, found it! I can’t seem to find any posts from other undergraduate social work majors, here or there. Can’t figure out if that’s a good sign or a bad sign!

Here is the one I was looking at last night! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/san-diego-state-university/1617892-2014-sdsu-transfer-decisions-post-here.html

Oops sorry @socworktransfer I just saw that you already found one. Yeah there were a ton of business/finance/accounting majors on that forum. From what I read I didn’t really see any Biology majors either so I have no idea if that is a good or bad sign! Last year, my friend who transferred with the same major as me found out she was accepted on March 5th. She was born and raised in San Diego though and I wasn’t so that is why I am worried.

@socworktransfer‌ You must’ve missed my post then! Hahaha. I’m a SW transfer student from North County. :smiley:

I’m currently crossed enrolled and taking my SW120 class this semester. I took 110 in the fall. I’m hoping that bc of this I’ll have a pretty solid chance of being accepted. I mean I’m already practically a student there! I dunno though, we’ll see!!!
