@lbstudies You got rejected from SLO or Cal Poly Pomona? I am trying to transfer back down to SoCal from SFSU. I applied to SDSU, CSUF, and CPP, and I haven’t heard back from any of them.
I haven’t found much on our chances either… generally, people say we are given last priority since we already attend a CSU and they are all under the same umbrella. However, my boyfriend keeps trying to reassure me that it is definitely possible and since I am a senior and really close to graduating already, I would be a positive number in their graduation rate.
I transferred to SFSU from Miracosta College in North San Diego county, and my permanent address is south of the 56, so technically I am in SDSU’s service area, although I’m not sure if they care about that now since I live and go to school in SF currently.
@815gab I know for some students, they may not like the campus atmosphere or they believe that they can go to another state school or 4 year university because they have a better reputation for their major, or things like that. There are lots of different reasons…
For me, I think the university i go to (CSUB) is great, but it is a commuter school and it’s really hard to gain a college experience, make new friends, and meet new people. I also live at home with my parents and I just really want to gain the experience of living on my own and living in a new city. SDSU also has a great credential program and if I don’t get in, I’m hoping to get my credentials there in the future.
@kittenfarts your username is very funny lol.
From Cal Poly Slo, my portal stills says pending… but I’m pretty sure I have gotten rejected since people have started to get waitlisted. Obviously, I’m not 100 % sure so there is still a little hope.
@lbstudies Thanks! Trying to keep the forums light I guess.
I don’t know much about SLO but they haven’t outright denied you yet so there’s still hope. Good luck!
P.S. Are you a liberal studies major because you want to become an elementary school teacher? I’m an English major but I’m considering getting my teaching credential later for elementary school (instead of middle school English like I had previously planned). I’m a little worried that it will be a complicated road to go down since my major is not in LS or Education, or anything really that related to elementary school teaching
Hey guys! I noticed a couple days ago I was also allowed to click the housing application, but now under “Required for Admission” it states “There are no requirements at this time.” and that’s it. Nothing housing related is there anymore Has this happened to anyone else?
@Ellie64 yes, it happened to quite a few of us
@ellie64 They took it off of the web portal for now. No one can apply for housing until they have been accepted.
UGH I just saw that another transfer student was admitted today via Instagram! But of course, he’s a dance major lol. :-w
Ugh. @TruffleButter Did you see the other one of the girl who was admitted for summer 2015? What’s that all about? She’s also a Dance major.
@raychill89 Yes, I saw her post also. It’s so weird. I know a lot of exchange students are admitted for the summer, but she doesn’t seem like one.
Did they have AAS-T’s in Dance? lol
Hey guys, I’ve been a long time lurker of this thread, and the one from last year too. Thought I’d share my stats:
Communications major
4.0 GPA when originally applying 3.85 on the supplemental app.
No AAT because my school doesn’t offer it.
Good luck to everyone!
3 Communication majors now! Yay! You’ll probably find out sooner than those of us with AA/AS-Ts. @baytransfer
Hello! long time lurker here aswell! i’ve been reading this years and last years post for the past like week and its stressing me out.
Major -English (single subject)
Location - Mesa
GPA -3.49
AA/AS-T? finished in the fall
about the summer acceptance, my sister is a freshman who got accepted to sdsu for the summer and she has to go for remedial classes.
Oh, that definitely makes sense. Thanks for answering that. I was sitting here scratching my head like, “Whaaaat?” Haha. @gh0stii
But yeah, I really do not expect anything from them before the 15th…
Gosh I hope so, refreshing my portal every two seconds is getting very stressful haha @raychill89
Greetings everyone!
I applied to SDSU fur the Fall 2015 semester as a Psychology major, the only problem is that I will be receiving an AA-T in Psychology, but I applied under the Psych BA program which does not grant preferred admission to an AA-T in psychology applicant, only the Applied Psychology program does.
So the question is, do i still have a chance of getting accepted?
I am from Riverside County and I have a 3.1 GPA.
Hi @lbstudies I also went to CSUB last year. It was way too expensive so I transferred to Bakersfield College. Now in my case, I am transferring from one four year university to another because it was too expensive. I don’t get any financial assistance because I’m middle class and my parents only dependent(with the exception of loans). Also, I would have tried to transfer anyway after my first two years because there is no way I am staying at home for school.
I was accepted to CSULB so now I’m just waiting to hear back from SDSU. Like most other non-locals, I was denied admission to CSUSM. Lol.
@lbstudies Truth be told, we have less of a chance of getting in. Not only are community colleges considered “easier” (subjective views), but they also get first priority. But hey, we have to hope for the best!
and @815gab I hated Fullerton believe it or not. There are others like me at Fullerton that just want out because it’s more of a commuter school, but there are also a lot of people that LOVE it. So like lbstudies said, it’s all about your opinion on the school I guess.
