@lbstudies is definitely right about CSUB being a commuter school. It attracts students young and old from all over Kern County. When I attended, I found it really hard to make friends and just get involved in general… Its a college campus without the real social college atmosphere BUT I still loved CSUB! It is a good school.
Hey this is probably a stupidly, obvious question but what do you guys mean when you say the university is more of a commuter school?
Meaning most people commute/drive to school instead of live on campus. @sdsuhopeful4
I already wrote this but what are my chances?
3.5 gpa before fall
3.3 after fall semester
History major
Mira costa
19 until November idk might play a factor
hey all, i too have been creeping on here for awhile.
i am trying to transfer from sac state to sdsu. hate the school & environment. maybe bc i’m from SoCal i’m just needy but regardless…
problem for me is sac’s pre reqs and sd’s for my major do not match up AT ALL. so while after this semester i will be done with them at sac, for sd only one pre req matches. have the core 4 done and the 30 unit ge’s though.
basically are we all screwed since we’re technically “fine” since were at a 4 year?
haven’t seen any interior design majors in here yet but hiiii that’s me!
major: interior design
gpa: 3.35
I’ve read the whole conversation and decided to write here too. Don’t want to wait for the SDSU news by myself haha
3.36 gpa
Business Major - General
Mesa College
I am transferring with AS-T. I also tried to get in last year, but I messed up on the number of units on my supplemental application and got denied. I appealed later, but could not get in as they had no space left since business is such an impacted major. So I am trying my luck this year again. Ahhh
I keep checking the portal, but still nothing I really hope we don’t get the “honor” of having to wait till April. My cousin applied as well as some as his friends he told me that some of them had gotten accepted since January, but they are high school students so meh… still makes me nervous though especially since i haven’t seen any other Linguistics majors posting stuff.
Checking in
Acct major
gpa 3.32
have all prereqs with 3 currently in progress
waitlisted into csulb so far
@carlaaay I’m in a similar situation except I’m at a CC! Missing about 5 major courses for Hospitality & Tourism, but I have everything else including an AS-T in Business Administration. Hopefully things go well for us !
Anybody here know the chances for a Criminal Justice major with a 3.77 gpa and AS-T degree? Or any same majors here?
@arzate94 I’m a cj major with a 2.9 and as-t after this semester. I think you have a great shot of being accepted
What’s going on everyone! Hope you all enjoy the weekend. I feel yall with the tensions and stress about finding out if you got in and everything. I was that same person last year, and thankfully, I was accepted last year as a a transfer!
Just want to give little details about myself and answer some questions.
I was originally from Cal State San Marcos, then transferred over to Southwestern, recieved my ADT in Gen Communications with about 3.7 gpa, I applied and was accepted to State last fall. If you applied and said you will recieved ADT/AST, you won’t be hearing from them until April. Those vertifications due March 15, MAKE SURE SDSU RECIEVED YOURS. The school may say they may have sent them to school. But while I was in Southwestern, I was originally not on list, so I spent a lot of my time at office vertifying with them the courses I completed from San Marcos/Southwestern. That was already tension and stress just being at the office to make sure they make a vertification, and I had to send it myself in person to the school. But I never gave up because I really wanted to invest my chances at SDSU. For the other transfers, that applied with TAG, or without the ADT/AST, you should be hearing from them soon, hopefully next week. They usually send out decisions for regular transfers first and then those with ADT/AST priority are not until April. I wish you all the best and feel free to ask me anything. Good luck and keep grind moving!
@juan23sese thanks for the insight. I just don’t get how regular transfers without an As-t will find out before those who do.
I have some questions/obervations and would like some feedback.
- My cc Foothill will not send ADT until completion in June so I don’t understand the March 15 deadline if my ADT will not be complete until June.
- My ADT is in Sociology but my major is Comparative International Studies. Will I still be in that April group? In other words if my ADT is in a major different from the major I applied to, will the ADT verification hold up my admission decision, or will I be considered for admission without ADT and thus be notified earlier.
- I am surprised that SDSU would hold up the acceptances due to ADT verification. I was accepted into Cal Poly SLO in late Feb conditionally upon receipt of all transcripts, so no ADT verification was used by Cal Poly in making the decision (note: also the major I applied to Comparative Ethnic Studies was different than my ADT major)… Is SDSU different from Cal Poly with regard to this need for ADT verification by
@carlaaay You said you are missing some prerequisite courses. It states: “Transfer applicants, with the exception of nursing transfers, must complete all major preparation courses listed in the SDSU General Catalog by the end of the spring term prior to fall admission.” http://arweb.sdsu.edu/es/admissions/transfers/apply/majorprep.ht
Almost I’ll be completing the last 2 I need By the end of spring I’m glad to find another CJ major hopefully we will get in !! Let me know, mine is still pending…
Hello Im also a CJ major and I with a 3.1 and you do have a good chance of being accepted !! Keep me posted .
Dose any body know if its the same GPA for criminal justice major requirement for non local students? Because for fullerton they told me I also got denied due to the GPA for non-locals it was higher.
