2015 SDSU Transfer Decisions

Did anybody get in today? Or got rejected?

Bummed. I was denied admission yesterday. I am an international student btw. I did my GE courses through an extension of the JFK University(CA) campus.
Major: Electrical Engineering
GPA: 4.00(for 54 credits as of Fall 2014)
Pre-Reqs: Missing 2, unfortunately.

Still pending here… I don’t know if I got in because I am not a local transfer, and I am from a 4 year :pensive:

@lbstudies‌ pretty sure its because your major is on the ADT list, it means you won’t hear back until early April.

@dgo1114 checked my web portal on Monday

Social Work Student
3.89 GPA
well over 60 units
(no ADT, AST, TAG)
Local CC student
All pre-major courses except 2

Denied Admission this morning.

: ( Feeling numb and sad. I don’t really understand anything about the appeals process, but I would like to go through it. Can anybody guide me to information about how that works?

I’m sorry about that socworktransfer

The appeals process works if you have anything new to divulge to admissions that wasn’t apparent in the application. While its not a guarantee it doesn’t hurt if you try. What will you put into your appeal letter? I would recommend going to your school’s transfer center and taking with a councilor.

SDSU is apparently very critical on finishing major prep. Do they offer those 2 courses at your school?

The reason I don’t have all of my pre-major courses, is because I had to drop CC in the fall. I had to drop out because of extenuating circumstances from a personal health issue. I went through the official process through the school (submitted medical documentation, etc.) and was issued a refund for my classes, and no marks on my record for “attempted classes”. Would this be grounds for an appeal? I will be taking the two courses over the summer.

That sounds like grounds for an appeal letter to me. Most of the letters that SDSU will get will be people trying to persuade them with no actual evidence of anything new. A medical excuse sounds like a legitimate reason for them to reevaluate their decision. Also taking both of those classes over the summer session works perfectly.

Try and talk with the councilors and see if they can provide you with any supporting documents and personal letters from them to help boost your chances. Good Luck and I’m sorry to hear about your situations both past and present.

Awww @socworktransfer I am so sorry! Definitely try to appeal that. I think you have a good shot too! Please post here if you decide to do that and the decision is overturned!

question: how closely do we have to “maintain” our gpas this semester (for those of us accepted) ? I’m taking two 4 unit classes and I will forsure get an A in one but the other one is business law and it’s pretty damn hard to get an A in that class… If i get a B my gpa will drop by .01

Is anyone using the GI Bill that’s been accepted? I just want to know about the postponement of the SDSU Intent to
Enroll, does that mean that GI bill will cover the intent to enroll fee?

So did everyone with a 3.8+ GPA who got denied not finish all their pre-reqs? That’s the only reason I can think of that would be remotely fair. Rejecting someone with that high of a GPA, who also finished all their pre-reqs… ridiculous.

The US news ranking pages for all the CSUs now apparently have stats for 2015… does this also include fall 2015? It also states that Nov. 30th is the deadline for applying so I’m assuming it is updated. Which means all the schools already have a set percentage of how many students they’ll admit? It shows that the admission rate is currently 37.2% for SDSU:

Does anyone have experience getting enrollment verification from a San Diego Community College? The appeals process requires enrollment verification but I don’t know who I would contact to get that.

@socwork try this link(palomar college)
http://www.palomar.edu/admissions/Forms/VerifReqFlyer.pdf

Accepted
Gpa: 3.79
Major: business- marketing
All GE’s and major classes done.

I know people with 2.9 gpas who have gotten in who didn’t complete their pre reqs… So I’m a little upset about that because I thought SDSU required that you needed all of the classes done.

@nicolexo nope, i got in and had a 3.4 gpa and 3 pre reqs were not done and im out of the region(I go to orange coast college). But I do have all A’s in the 4 pre reqs I completed. btw im a speech and hearing disorders major.

Anybody wih econ major got it yet?

@ieatsushi You may want to give Frank Robert’s a call in the Veterans Center. He will be able to help you with any questions in regards to GI Bill benefits and what not. I believe the $400.00 intent to enroll fee should be covered with the GI Bill if it’s all set up in time, but I’d call and find out. I am probably going to call today about that too, so if I learn something before you do, I’ll post it here!
