just finished crying. literally heartbroken. sucks to get denied from your dream school, but congrats to everyone who got accepted.
on my web portal under “required for admission” it says supplemental application. that section was blank before i got denied. could that be the reason i was denied? i sent in my supplemental application back in january, could they not have recieved it?? also, anyone know what appeals would actually go through? guess im going to ucsb but if my appeal can get approved that’d be amazing, i would so much rather be an Aztec!!!
Got denied so I figured I might as well vent till I get over it.
First and foremost, congrats to those who did get accepted, I’m wishing the best of luck to your endeavors at SDSU or wherever you end up going!
I’m getting my AS-T for General Business and it will be completed by the end of Spring. I go to San Diego Mesa College and I’m local. On my initial application I reported a 3.65 GPA. By the time I finished Fall 2014, I ended up getting two C’s in Calculus 1 and Microeconomics which brought down my overall GPA to a 3.49, which I had to report on my supplemental application. I’m guessing this is the reason why I got denied.
Anyways, what do all of ya’ll think I should do? I’m about to go and talk to my counselor when we go back to school to see if I got other options. I’d really love your guys opinion on my particular predicament. Thanks for your time guys!
Did any Criminal Justice majors get in? if so and if not what was ur GPA ect… PLEASE let me know Thanks!(:
@transfer987654 locals have priority
Major: Liberal Studies (Science)
Location: Local community college with some units from CSUSM
GPA: 3.6
no transfer degree
ACCEPTED YAYYYY!
It would’ve been dope to say I got in to sdsu but in reality I wouldn’t ever turn down slo lol. I’m waiting on berkeley for Econ but besides that I’ll be headed to cal poly.
Come visit me and @atheos24 in slo
@santacruzchick
@wavechaser99
@shoenice SLO is my hometown! haha Great area to live, and voted #1 happiest cities in America! I love visiting my family there so I’m down! I’ll be there a lot now!
3.88 with AS-T bump. AS-T received in fall 2014 and I got denied (non local). I guess Humboldt it is for criminology instead of a Criminal Justice major at sdsu so I guess it’s a good trade off. Congratulations to everyone who got accepted and good luck to anyone else waiting
@lakeshow310 I am a local… SD Mesa is in the service area
I didn’t realize that SDSU has become so competitive to get into? I was denied, but I already ruled out moving to San Diego for school a long time ago, so I could care less (thankfully). Still sucks seeing DENIED on your application though! Congratulations to everybody that got in. I’ll list my stats just in case it helps anybody out.

@transfer987654 there is a post i made on here earlier about my last year’s denial. You probably made a mistake on your supplemental application. You can appeal their decision, but the chances are very slim as your major is super impacted. Doesn’t hurt to try thou.
@antho858 i would go to SDSU admissions office and talk to them, they can tell you why you got denied.
Status: DENIED
Major: History
GPA: 4.0
All prereqs done, AA-T degree
Non-local, In-state
Pretty surprised but have already accepted admission from Cal Poly SLO. Congrats to all who were accepted, and those who have not, do not be disheartened! <3
@antho858 I would most definitely call admissions to find out what the reason was for the denial to be certain. You are local and should have priority, however, it could have been anything from a mistake on the application, the GPA drop, or a more competitive applicant pool for your major. Nevertheless, I would still call to find out for sure, then go through with the appeals process if you can. I am very sorry you were not accepted, but don’t give up hope just yet. Best of luck to you!
So I got some information… I called and a representative told me that they aren’t accepting anyone under a 3.5 for business general with and AS-T from a local JC (Which is the boat I’m in). Honestly crushed… I had a 3.47 after the GPA bump.
@ksuksuksu @raychill89 Thanks for the kind words, moral support and guidance, I really appreciate that! As mentioned by @transfer987654 they said that their cut-off point was 3.5 and above. This seems kind of odd, but those who applied without an AS-T, got in with a lower GPA. My friend got in to the accounting program with a 3.2!
To those who did get rejected, don’t let this discourage you from furthering your education. Everything happens for a reason, and their will be better opportunities in the near future. In some sense, try to see this predicament as a good thing and learn from it! Enough said, chuck that chin up and handle that!
As for @raychill89, thanks for keeping this forum alive and providing support to those who were anxious! Good luck at State and make the most out of it, do it for me and those who couldn’t attend this Fall!
@antho858 Is your friend a local? (out of curiosity)
@hopefulaztec619 I am a liberal studies major too!
Denied
Major: Computer Science

Golden 4: 3 A’s, 1 B

I’d heard SDSU was extremely competitive to get into, even more so than most of the UCs, so I’m not surprised. But San Diego was on the top of my list of places I’d move to for school, so I’m bummed about that. Any other Comp Sci majors who got in, I’m interested to hear what your stats looked like.
