2016/2017 UT Austin Transfer Thread

How long after the app goes into review does admissions release an acceptance/decline ?

Same here! My application was put into review!!

4.0

Man, does everybody got a 4.0 jeez!

Do CAP students not get put in review until we send in our final transcript? Applied for Advertising.

@CapPlease Yes, you need 30+ hours to be put into review.

Can anyone chance me?
I’m applying for Electrical and computer engineering with CS as my second choice
Current GPA 4.0 hopefully I’ll get a 4.0 again this semester
Accepted my physics e&m ap us history and ap gov (13 hrs)
Took Physics Mechanics, Calc 1, English Composition, Astronomy(idk why it doesn’t apply to my major), general engineering total (16 hrs)
Taking General chem for engineers, Calc 2, psychology, world architecture, general engineering (16 hrs)
ECs are good I think: recently been to a few hackathons and I’m in 4 clubs 1 that I’m very involved in
Essays good too I think had trouble with topic A but I think my topic E is really good
Also I’m coming from TAMU if that changes anything

Oh also 1 letter of recommendation

@usmanf Chance me(s) are really redundant and very controversial, if you have the prerequisites for your major and a 3.7+ GPA then you have a good chance. This goes for pretty much all majors (excluding CS and Business).

I just realized that for some reason, on my ApplyTexas application I listed that I was intending on doing the nursing pre-professional program. I have no idea why/how I did this but I am not applying to the school of nursing, I am applying to the COLA (my majors are correct on my application). Is that going to be an issue? I emailed the undergraduate admissions center but they haven’t gotten back to me, they’re likely swamped right now.

Also, historically, when do transfer decisions start to be released? Late April?

Mid to Late April if you have over 30 credit hours, if not then June 15th pretty much

I contacted COLA and asked when they would be giving out decisions and they said to hear back from them in June. Hopefully sooner though.

Decisions are released between late March to Mid June. Each school/major releases waves of decisions. source: admitted last fall as an out of state transfer.

Hi everyone,
I have a question about the documents for transfer students. I submitter all the required documents for the transfer, but I didn’t include Letter of Recommendation. So, will it hurt the decision made toward the acceptance for my application?

@Soarup I don’t think so. I believe it’s unnecessary to submit a letter of recommendation unless you can present a different view of yourself which your essays, resume, or transcript cannot show. I didn’t ask for one either, worry not.

I thinking the housing application should be submitted soon!

it said my file is in review about a week ago, does that mean the decision will be released soon?

should I apply for housing now? or should I wait for the decision first before applying?

i dunno if you think your gunna get in, I would
