I just hope the admissions counselors don’t get super strict about admitting people into COLA this summer. I hope they accept the same GPA range as they did this month
Since internal transfer for McCombs is purely GPA based, how do you guys think about a 3.81 for internally transferring in?
@wickedwarrior777 I totally agree…getting kinda sketched that COLA is going to be full and a lot of people are going to get cut off
I’m not as worried cause my major is an open major meaning that as long as I am good enough for the school (with a 3.73+ GPA), I automatically get my major. My major has no competition. I contacted my the advisor for the major and he said that this is the case. Is 3.73+ GPA good enough for COLA?
what is your major? I think a 3.73+ GPA is great for COLA!
@wickedwarrior777 what major you applying for? I’m going for philosophy but not sure if its an open major or not. I’m ending the year with either a 3.75 or a 3.86 but I’m still fairly worried haha
3.7+ I think is good enough for COLA if you have good essays and other extracurriculars to support your application.
My credentials are
3.733+ GPA
2 strong essays
4 medical internships (one more abroad this summer in India for cardiothoracic surgery internship)
3 LORs from doctors
And a few other clubs in high school/ this first year of college.
Anyone know if UT reserves spots in courses for transfers?
For some reason, I have a feeling that I will be denied. My gpa isn’t that great and I recently (like in January) decided to major in Journalism instead of Psychology, so I have more Psych classes on my transcript than Journalism
What is your GPA?
Stay positive. I believe in u
@wickedwarrior777 tbh…it’s under a 3.0, UT Austin is a huge reach school for me and I definitely applied to other schools as back up.
Are you a transfer student? What school are you at now?
@wickedwarrior777 I’m currently a transfer student at Lone Star College.
Hello
I applied to COLA Economics major and MY STATUS portal is saying that it is in review.
My cal 2 is in progress right now. After this spring semester I have to submit final transcript, but I cannot find any tab that I can upload transcript yet. They didn’t ask me to send final transcript yet.
Is this bad sign or good sign? They will update MY STATUS portal soon for me to upload final transcript?
@COLLEGEZZ Since your application is already in review I assume that you applied with 30+ credit hours, but on my MyStatus page (I’m applying with less than 30 credit hours) it says that my final transcript cannot be uploaded via the website. Says it must be mailed, hand delivered, or sent electronically from my current school. Don’t know if the final transcript deal is the same for you as it is for me since I’m applying with less than 30 hours, but seems like you can’t upload it online.
It’s easier to send it directly to UT. That’s what I’ve been doing for the other universities I applied to
@yungchildish @JeyLee Thanks!
Yes I have 63 credits. On my Mystatus page is saying nothing about final transcript. it has a different process with me and you by credits. Looks like people who has less than 30 credits will be reviewed after they send a final transcript.
I might be sending directly to school.
@JeyLee But I don’t know why admission asked spring grades to you , not to me although we both have more than 30 credits.
I applied for History with a 3.7/4.0 GPA most likely
Should be good enough? Or no?
