2016/2017 UT Austin Transfer Thread

Finally, admitted to EE.
ACC Transfer
GPA: 3.9.
Essays: are ok.
EC’s: None but PTK and Honors.
4 LORs.
I have taken everything but CAL3, my only B was in DIfferential Equations. Last course finished was E. Physics 2 in spring 2017 and was an A.

So, I’ve been following this thread for a while but have yet to see someone apply for CNS with a Chemistry major. Do y’all think it’s just as competitive as Biology? Getting worried now, still haven’t heard back from UT and my application has been in review since late March.

Got admitted to biochem. Transfer gpa 3.76 and completed university physics 2-A, Calculus 3- A, Biology for science major-A.

If I sent in two transcripts from two different schools, will they average the two separate GPAs? Or will they only consider the best/worst of the two?

They have to average them otherwise some of the classes you took wouldn’t be represented in your GPA…

Hi everybody! I still haven’t received my decision :frowning: But here are my stats. I’ll update ya’ll once I get a response from UT.
I’m applying as a rising sophomore for COLA, english major. Eventually I want to double major (English+Psych)
In state
Current school: ACC

College GPA: 4.0
High School GPA: 3.43 (UW), 4.29 (W)
SAT: 1950
AP scores: US Gov-3, Lit-4, Human Geo-5, Calc AB-3, US Hist-3
Extracurricular: A LOT of high school ECs and volunteer work, not so many ECs during college (but I did work a part time job and I am in the honors program at ACC).
1 LOR: My English Professor who used to work at UT wrote me a “glowing recommendation” haha
2 essays: Pretty good I guess lol

I applied a year ago but was CAP’d. If I don’t get accepted I’ll be attending NYU where I was already accepted and have payed a nonrefundable $500 down payment to secure my admission. If I get accepted, I will go to UT but will have just wasted $500…ugghhhhguughh hurry up already UT

Feel like you’ll get in if I am to be completely honest

Accepted into Moody for first choice RTF!! I’m an out of state student, so I’m in shock!

30 hours from ACC, 2 LOR, 2 Essays, 200+ Volunteer Hours, and some film/tv awards from high school.
Super excited!!

Agh I’m dying with this wait. Seems like they’re saving COLA for last or something.

Rejected from Aerospace Engineering :(. ACC transfer with 49 transferable hours, 3.76 GPA great resume and essays . Also rejected from A&M. Will probably stay another year to get GPA to 3.86 and 79 transferable hours.

Anybody here from McCombs?

Hi everyone! Just got accepted into my first choice Moody - Public Relations! I have been following this thread all year, so I am ecstatic!
GPA: 3.4
44 hours from community college, 4 LOR, 2 essays, 25 volunteer hours, good resume, PR internship and work experience.

Congrats to everyone who has been accepted, and to everyone still waiting- I felt your pain.

Anyone rejected from COLA yet? If I were to guess, I would probably be one of the first to get rejected due to my awful GPA lol

I’m starting to get really frustrated now… COLA has let out barely any decisions while it seems like every person who applied to Moody has already received word. Even Cockrell has let out more decisions!

@krisstory99 Haha, McComb’s is right there with you. COLA is a lot bigger though.

Has anyone heard from
the Education School yet?

Accepted biochemistry with gpa 3.71! It’s so hard to choose between umich and ut,

Finally accepted to cs. 3.9 GPA, 67 credits, out of state. Will attend!
