Is everyone supposed to submit the secondary school final report and the mid-term report found in the common app?
@YoBoi44 those are not required
@OCCtoUSC would it help to do the mid-term report if you have all A’s?
When USC says that your Gpa can’t go below a 3.5, otherwise they reserve the right to rescind. Does that mean can’t go below a 3.5 for the spring semester, or your overall gpa can’t go below a 3.5
@nalabearz4 well that really usually only applies to TTP applicants, and it means if their overall GPA goes below a 3.5. If you’re not a TTP, I wouldn’t worry too much about that, but definitely try and finish with above a 3.5
@YoBoi44 no. They don’t want any documents that they haven’t asked for and discourage sending the midterm report. Iirc they wouldn’t take it into accord when reviewing your app.
USC admission sent me an email on 4/4 saying I had missing transcripts. Approximately from 4/4-4/11 I sent my transcripts from each respective colleges I went to. Then… 4/20 I got an email again saying this is a final notice for my missing documents (transcripts) to be sent.
I already confirmed and checked with my college that these transcripts got sent. I even contacted my regional admission officer, and it’s been over a week since they replied. I’m really anxious about this only because on my USC message history I have two notifications of “Missing USC Application Materials”- Tuesday, April 04, 2017 and “Missing USC Application Materials” - final notice - Thursday, April 20, 2017.
Has anyone received an email/notification of “final notice” similar to this?
Last year my friend got accepted into Dornsife as a Poli Sci major May 1st, so Dornsife should be hearing back soon.
Did anyone here apply as a PPL or Pol Sci major?
Dornsife applicants *
i also just recieved a message indicating missing application items. which is baffling considering i thought the issue was resolved when they emailed me on March 14. The response I got (like 5 days later so not that long) from admissions was that my file was complete and on time. So i guess it’s back to emailing admissions and waiting. idk man I just feel like a rejection is on the way for me
@TheWorrisomeGirl I’m in a similar situation. Log into you.usc portal, click into the document management system, then click the received documents tab and see if they have acknowledged/received your transcripts. For example, mine says “Transcript: California State U Los Angeles”. Yours should say something similar. Did you electronically submit your transcripts or mail them? If the latter, they can take longer to process due to mailing, receiving, filing, and updating the system manually. I got an email on April 14th that USC wanted me to send an explanation to them regarding what I did during my time off school. I had already uploaded an explanation in the additional info section under the common application (month ago) but I guess they didn’t see it. Anyways, I resubmitted it the same day on April 14th in the doc management system (even though there was nothing in the required section). However they have yet to remove the “missing file” in my status which is stressing me out. If it’s not removed by today, tomorrow I will contact the undergraduate office to see what’s going on. I have not received a final notice email. If I were you I would call them and sort it out asap. It seems we’re not like the only people on here that are having trouble with undergraduate admissions
@kimham I’m a Political Science applicant
@kimham I applied as Political Economy as my first choice and PPL as my second choice
@dvalence7 @InTheNightSky95 It’s giving me a lot of anxiety, because I rushed my transcripts from one of my schools. And, that school actually notified me when USC acknowledged the transcript. I sent a request from the other school after 4/4. Honestly, the fact that they sent me a “final notice” email stresses me out TT__TT". The only difference from the email from the original email is literally the fact they said: “We will send no further requests for these items.” IT SOUNDS LIKE AN ULTIMATUM when I was reading it, because I remembered applying last year and having all my documents be in order and etc.
I would always send my transcripts like 3+ times each time I was asked, lol. I think I must have annoyed them. I’d send a copy by snail mail even. It got a little expensive with the official transcripts since I attended around 5 CCs. They must have accumulated a little pile from me because I had a preference for sending in physical copies
@TheWorrisomeGirl at that point I would either call the office or email your regional counselor, tell them whats going on and attach the recipes and notices you received from your school saying that USC acknowledged your transcripts.
It might just be that even though they have received your transcripts, the part of the office that updates it online hasn’t been notified yet. Since you have receipts that USC got your stuff, they can’t count it against you.
Dornslife applicant here! Cognitive science! I sent all my materials since January. Haven’t received an email since I applied but I feel really good (: I was recommended by the former deputy mayor of LA.
Sorry late to the thread lol can someone please tell me what SGR and WGR mean?
@juliar95 SGR = spring grade request and WGR = winter grade request. The latter is typically for quarter system students
@juliar95 SGR means spring grade request - if you get one, that means USC wants to see your grades from this current semester before making their decision, which means that some people won’t hear back until mid-July…
WGR is a winter grade request which is USC asking for grades from students on the quarter system, so they are asking for grades from this past quarter. Its not really sent out to applicants on the semester system.
