2017 - 2018 USC Transfer

What’s this scheduled maintenance on youSC account for tomorrow from 4:45-5am?

@lexluther96 Spring Grades Request

@penntousc a community college in WA. I posted my stats in the stats thread if you’re interested.

anyone go to the Travis Scott concert in sf?? drake was there in the crowd go to hang out w him in the crowd best day life is now made.

I haven’t gotten a SGR either and I’m also transferring from a UC with a 3.98

@SportsNerd24 Probably gonna notify some students with SGR’s or acceptances.

@Skepta Are you serious?? I might lose it if they ask for a SGR after processing the winter transcript…

@illuxa it is very common for them to ask for an SGR ever after looking at winter grades, (atleast for incoming sophomore). My friend who transferred to Annenberg for journalism got an SGR after sending winter grades, this was despite her having a 3.9gpa in high school and a 34 ACT. Basically if you are an incoming sophomore they like to see as much college work as possible. lol kinda sucks for me cuz my spring quarter ends june 27th so I wont hear back until mid july. No point in stressing for that long so kinda just let it go, just hoping for the best haha.

@Skepta well if you’re friend was going to have 30 transferable units by the end of the spring semester, their high school stats meant absolutely nothing

she didnt have 30 semester units or 45 quarter units since she was on the quarter system by the end of winter quarter so maybe they did look at her hs stats before requesting a SGR. But by spring quarter she had more 30 transferable semester units.

@Skepta well if she was going to have 45 quarter units by the end of the spring semester, they would have never even looked at her HS stats… like even though I only have completed 16 semester units, since I’ll have 30+ by the end of the spring, they will never look at my HS grades, whether I would want them to (to avoid an SGR) or not

Does anyone know what “Academic Evaluation for Transfers” under the received documents in the portal means? I don’t recall submitting anything like this.

So I had the same issue in which I submitted transcripts a long time ago but they’re are asking for them again. I emailed them and this is what they said:

Dear Taylor,

Thank you for contacting the Office of Admission at the University of Southern California.

USC requires all transcripts to be official. A transcript is considered official when we receive it in the sealed envelope the school provides or if it is electronically transmitted (not emailed) from the institution. It can be mailed by the school or the applicant and be considered official as long as the envelope has not been opened. Transcripts can be mailed to the address listed below. Transcripts that are uploaded or faxed using your online youSC account are not considered official.

Sincerely,

Office of Admission

@millaportman I have it too. It’s your letter of recommendation submitted by your professor via the common app

@TayDee Is that listed under your “required documents” tab on the portal? A request for transcripts? Because mine says “none” under “required documents.” But they show that they’ve received documents (Academic Evaluation for Transfers) that I didn’t submit. I’m wondering if this means they’ve already reviewed my application. I submitted back on November 20th.

@pomeranian4rich Oh…thank you! That makes complete sense then because there are two listings.

@millaportman Yeah it’s under documents I need to submit. I believe the issue is that they want official transcripts, but on the system it says upload them via pdf. A transcript isn’t official of the seal is broke on the envelope. It’s conflicting information, but I’m going to mail my official transcripts.

@TayDee Yes, that would be best. Or you can have them sent electronically in PDF format through your school if you want your transcripts to reach them faster.

Hi. I was wondering what would happen if I dropped a class. There’s still time to drop a class so it wouldn’t show in my transcript. The thing is, I said I would take this class in my application. Is not required for my major, it’s just a GE. Also, with this class I would have 47 quarter units as a first year student. This class is worth 4 units. I just really hate this class lol and it’s too late to add another class worth the same amount of units. What should I do?

@hopefulunderdog well there won’t be a W like you said, but if you drop the class you will drop below the 45 quarter/30 semester units mark, and so they would take your HS grades and test scores into consideration
