2017 and 2018 Invitation to Excellence

@DisneyMom99 congratulations, and did he apply to any of the B2 programs?

Anyone make their hotel reservations yet, especially from OOS?

I just booked the Courtyard Marriott Waco

The Hilton is closest to school but full. We booked a room at the Hampton Inn Waco South.

We stayed one time at a rental cottage (search for Little Blue House on HomeAway) that was wonderful and about 15 minutes away from Baylor. Loved it. Actually owned by a Baylor IT professor.

Weā€™re OOS and just booked Thurs-Saturday night. I believe that is the end of all events (even B2b) and going to head to the airport thereafter for a late flight back to CA. Not sure if itā€™d be wise to stay Saturday night unless anyone ā€œcloserā€ to the school has some insights?

We are coming in from California Friday morning and will be there in time for the Friday reception. As the events Saturday donā€™t end until 5 we are staying that night too then driving to airport to fly out Sunday.

Sounds like lots of Californians will be there. Where are you all (yā€™all ?

Ii just booked our hotel at the Best Western Plus Woodway Waco South for Friday night. We are in Austin, so we will drive back after the Saturday events.

also coming from Austin. From what I know of Waco, south of campus is generally better option than north. So many hotels near campus are reportedly booked for Jan 19th.

My D received email today that the I2E event in January is going to be large, 2-3x the normal size. There will be additional staff on hand to keep the faculty/student ratio the same, and they will have addditional faculty scholarships to award to the attendees.

Has anyone received their event itinerary?

@nrs1600 my DD attended i2e on 11/4 and received the itinerary on 10/31

Baylor has not been specific about how the Faculty Scholarships are awarded. DS attended I2E in November and was told he would hear a decision by March 1. Are the November and January I2E candidates all in 1 pool for the undisclosed number of Faculty Scholarships or do you think the November students were in one pool and the January will be in another pool? What are your thoughts? Baylor is his first choice, but without the Faculty Scholarship it is probably not going to happen financially.

@S18D20mom I havent been able to find any info on the number of Faculty Scholarships available each year. The Baylor FAQ for the scholarship just says ā€œThe number varies each year depending on available funding.ā€

@S18D20mom and @ccsouth I donā€™t know the answer to your question, but I did speak to the honors college yesterday (that is the program my D is attending for I2E), and they told me that they would award 2-3 Faculty scholarships to the students who attend the honors session. There are about 120 kids attending I2E for honors. Iā€™m guessing it may be a little different for each area of study. You might try to call the college you are attending at I2E to see if you can get more info.

Ok, received final details today for next weekā€™s I2E event. Weā€™re in the ā€œGoldā€ group.

Green group here!!

Do we find out which academic group session we were placed into once we get there? I canā€™t find it in the itinerary

My D is in the Gold group, and I know we signed up for the Honors trackā€¦so Iā€™m assuming thatā€™s what that is??
