2018 - 2019 USC Transfer

Wait, does the SGR come in the check app status or submit app docs field/menu option? What is the subject line of the message?

This is probably a stupid question - but is it possible to appeal and ask for consideration for another major? Just trying to consider my approach. Thanks in advance.

@HeyItsNick I appealed last year, and my counselor said you can do that

@mamba14 im coming from college of the canyons in southern cal a cc. and i hope so. I was just looking at prior stats and keep in mind the people that were on the fringe (around 3.5 did have an upward trend).

@SabPardo Wait till the wave of acceptances come, 70+ pages in 24 hours xP

Does anybody have any idea of when the first wave for Dornsife will come? I’m guessing the first week of May? Or am I being too optimistic lol

@ernesto98 that is so much better than a rejection! Just work really hard for finals and you should be good. I’m from a private 4 year with a 3.83 GPA, but haven’t heard anything yet :frowning:

When do you guys think decisions will be out?

I know this is a stupid question. If you get a SGR from USC it comes in regular mail not a package correct?

Quick Question: Under Submit Documents in my portal it is asking me to submit my Official Spring Transcripts. I sent them in a little over a week ago & it is still showing the tab? Should it be showing still?

@bklyngal There are no stupid questions  I got my SGR way back in 2014, but yeah, it was a regular letter in the mail. It somewhat terrified me because it was just a plain letter with the USC letterhead/logo. I thought it was rejection (although that did happen later on after I submitted my spring grades) :stuck_out_tongue: I saw my SGR on the portal, then got an email about it, and eventually (like 2 weeks?) I finally got it in the mail.

I have been reading this thread for a couple of months but have never said anything. I am currently a freshman at a pretty good private university with a 4.0 GPA and have completed all of the Marshall requirements. I am majoring in Finance with a double minor in Chinese and Global Business and am applying as Business Administration. I have yet to receive a SGR. Do you think there is a chance I will hear back officially this weekend?

@tennisplayer4000 If you’ve completed the calculus requirement for Marshall, that should reduce your chances of getting an SGR, but USC does tend to like sending them out to sophomore applicants. It seems like this year is no exception. There’s a chance that you can get an outright decision  but SGRs can go out anytime as well.

does USC ever really wait until late may to notify marshall applicants?

@thedaily Of course they do :stuck_out_tongue: Just look at the decision threads for past years. I just took a glance right now and saw May 24th as the decision date for one Marshall applicant. USC can and will make some people wait longer than others. I just hope nobody has to wait as long as me. I think my case was really atypical though.

got an SGR in my portal this morning right when you click on Check Admission Status there was a link to a PDF letter and the link was titled Spring Grade Request. I am currently a freshman at a UC school applying as a Sociology major all prereqs and writing requirement were completed last quarter.

@collegekid82 do you mind sharing your GPA?

What is the latest date somebody could get a SGR?

@collegequestions1799 May 30th

J@zettasyntax just asking because my informed delivery shows a package from USC. It is priority mail and was shipped yesterday. Probably will not be here for 2 days. Hoping its not a SGR, and I assume rejections are not mailed? Getting nervous.
