2018 - 2019 USC Transfer

@HeyItsNick If you’re talking about submit application documents > document library > Appeal of Admission decision, then I’m pretty sure everyone has it!

@Anco17 Yes, I applied to Tulane as well. I was accepted with the largest merit scholarship for transfers, so I am pretty excited about that. What about you?

@transfer9692 Yes, that is what I was talking about! Thank you! I hate this process, I feel like a high school senior all over again.

My two major choices were Business Administration and Undecided. How likely is it that I can get accepted as Undecided?? I am no longer interested in Business and I am currently taking Calc because it’s required for that major. I’m really tempted to just drop calc because I don’t think I can get a C or higher. Do you guys think it looks better to get a W than to get a C or worse in this class? And do you think they’ll consider accepting me for Undecided if I just don’t complete my major requirements??

@HeyItsNick Right! I hate it too, and I feel like it’s more intense than senior year. Now I’ve had to call and email so many people and go out of my way. In high school it was a bit more guided and decisions came out way earlier.

Can someone help me out here. My portal changed. I have Admission Decision, Enrollment Commitment Deposit, and apply for housing. How does an admitted portal look like. Im in TTP but I have not received a package. What does this portal change mean?

@star7rulz hmmm…sounds like you got in! If so, CONGRATS!!! Fingers crossed.

How responsive are all of your regional admission counselors? I sent an email to mine last Monday and have not heard back. It’s a busy time so understandable but just curious about how long it took all of you to hear back when you emailed them

@star7rulz You’re most definitely in. Congratulations!

@HeyItsNick A few months ago, it only took mine a few hours to respond. But then I emailed her again like a month ago and got no reply so I followed up with a phone call to the admissions office and they were helpful

Sorry to reiterate, but if they ask you for spring semester grades on May 31, when will they email you the decision after you send in the grades?

Also, how does the appeal work for the rejected? How could I ask them to put me in as undecided?

@StipendAwarded Your school = college

Like @csumit said, if your school doesn’t offer it/allow you to take it, USC would probably just make you take it when you transfer.

You can still transfer without having an articulation agreement. I would just suggest keeping in contact with USC to make sure you’re taking classes that actually transfer and fulfill their GE requirements!

@StipendAwarded It really varies. Some can hear within a week after submitting spring grades, but others can wait up to a month. USC really can make you wait. I got my SGR on April 23rd, but my semester didn’t end until early June. I submitted my spring grades as soon as I possibly could (around mid-June) and found out that I was rejected in early July, so in my case it took several weeks. I have somewhat noticed a trend that the longer it takes to hear back after submitting spring grades, it’s more than likely the case that you got rejected. I wouldn’t say that’s an established pattern, but I’ve seen it a bunch!

Appeals don’t really seem to have rules, so you could likely flat out ask them. When I submitted my appeal, my counselor just said to email him a PDF and that he would forward it to the “appropriate appeals committee”. My appeal wasn’t succesful though, so I wouldn’t be the person to give out advice on how to write one :stuck_out_tongue:

@myalbc Yes I am! I’m pretty sure that’s the only reason my package came early! I’m still nervous though because I heard least year Annenberg only accepted like 7% :frowning:

@HeyItsNick Just curious, what did you ask your counselor about? Mine hasn’t either.

@aznboi4981 It was about a schedule change. So pretty important but when I called they were like if you sent the email, they would have gotten it. But I would have expected some type of response.

Is Dornsife less competitive than Viterbi?

@quietquiet It ended up working for me when I did it yesterday, so I’m not sure

@TrojanTransferer I haven’t been able to find the page with that name. Did you post about it in the TTP/Spring Admits one? If so I just joined it

I’m seeing something from Pitney Bowes coming on Wednesday from Alameda, CA. Obviously thats way up north but could this possibly be USC? PB does do mass mailing stuff.

@elleerain What exactly did USPS say about your package? Was it priority and did it have insurance?
