@HeyItsNick im sorry you were denied…do you mind posting your stats or reasons why you think you were denied because i thought they usually dont deny people before an SGR
@dwightsbeetfarm My college GPA was 3.7 although high school was only 3.0 so i don’t know if that had something to do with it?i have 45 credits completed though and I didn’t think they considered high school. I was applying for Keck and only switched my major last semester from PolSci to public health therefore didn’t have bio done yet so that probably has something to do with it, I don’t know for sure.
@HeyItsNick did the denial appear in the portal? what school did you apply to? sorry to hear man
Thanks for letting the other posters know @HeyItsNick, very kind of you, it may flag others to check. Wish you the best, will you be staying at AU?
@HeyItsNick were you a TTP student? Sorry to hear that!
@HeyItsNick condolences my friend. are you going to appeal? if you have your bio requirement done at the end of this semester it might be worthwhile.
@HeyItsNick The high school shouldn’t have influenced it - Keck is crazy competitive and yes, having the key core courses done can be a huge influence. So it was likely more of the choice of major and what you had done/not done class wise, versus your scores not being good enough.
Sorry about the result, but a year or two from now it will be clear why this happened. Ya, the ol’ everything happens for a reason - corny - but oh so true. Wait for it…it will come. Could be an opportunity or a soul mate…who knows what - but something great will happen because you didn’t go to USC. That is the exciting part, rolling with this kind of stuff and seeing how it all plays out.
@Vincent1997 it’s totally okay! I’ve spent hours on that thread. I also read through it last year when they were all heard back.
@CADREAMIN Do you know when USC releases the Dornsife decisions?
@elena1355 Frankly, the transfer rollout it insane and painful. They just putter along every year with no rhyme or reason it seems. The TTPs hear early, like they have been, but those continue to drag out too. It seems around mid April (yes, more waiting) they have the biggest result release and I hate to say it - but that has been around April 18-20th in past years. If they do it by school it has not been apparent.
If you get in, or not, and are kind enough to post your results, would you please include:
TTP or no TTP
School or major you applied to/accepted to
Portal update or mail notification
That would be helpful to those still waiting (and suffering because they are still waiting). Thank you and good luck everyone!
Here’s the stats thread again: http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/university-southern-california/2069354-usc-2018-2019-transfer-students-stats-decisions-only.html#latest
whats up fellow marshall applicant! Also waiting for some kind of feedback from usc!
Hope for the best outcome of course!!!
@CADREAMIN Have rejections gone out this early in the past? I don’t want to be insensitive or anything, but it does seem earlier than usual.
@HeyItsNick Sorry to hear that man. At least they didn’t keep you wondering until July. Thanks for posting on this thread, it’s really helpful to the rest of us.
For everyone else, in case he doesn’t return. It appears that he didn’t apply to USC as a senior in HS. This means he is not TTP.
@HeyItsNick keep your head up!!! If you get the chance to continue cc to try again do it. If not i wish you the best of luck!! #fighton
If I am taking a math pre req this semester do I have a chance of being asked for an SGR? is it always asked if you have a prereq this semester when applying? Or for instance my past GPA’s have been 3.9’s would they just assume I’m going to pass or ask for it later?
@angeleno13 Not sure if I completely understand you, but are you saying that you are currently taking a prereq?
If so, yeah probably going to get an sGR.
@csumit Yes, it is really early, the rejection wave is usually toward end of May so idk. There also isn’t any info on if this was received via mail or portal…Maybe because a Keck applicant? Also, people that get denied don’t post, so maybe others have got it this early, but they aren’t on cc or don’t post if they are…not sure what’s happening there. Be great if he comes back on with more info.
If people are already getting rejected, that most likely means that something crucial was missing from their application. It was incomplete, incorrect data, required letter of rec missing, things like that.
