2018 - 2019 USC Transfer

@clan123 @transfer9692 I am also Marshall non-TTP! I think last year, non-TTP Marshall applicants started hearing back around late April, with the majority being in May. The wait seems so long! :frowning:

@clan123 @transfer9692 @colelgerose Marshall non-TTP squad. I think weā€™re going to hear back earlier than previous years tbhā€¦ People are beginning to hear back now.

@aznboi4981 YEAH Iā€™d be so happy if they notify us earlier than last year lol

I hope they didnā€™t review my application yet lol. I submitted an addendum yesterday explaining something very important. Otherwise, I have a snowballā€™s chance in hell for admission. :))

@aznboi4981 @clan123 @collegerose Yay! I hope so, I honestly donā€™t know whatā€™s taking so long. USC has a pretty early transfer deadline compared to other universities!

@collegerose Heyyy youā€™re also on the Cornell thread :slight_smile:

@Sbp325 You have the same chances. USC is private, they do not give any edge to a CC like the UC system does. They arenā€™t looking at any one more sympathetically than another. They accept plenty of four year transfers as well. I am sure more apply from CCs, but when you look at who they admit - 50% come from California CC, the rest come from other universities around the country with 10% being from UC/CSUs. I think that is a big number considering how few likely apply from UCs compared with CCs. Students from 4 years with high gpaā€™s have shown they can handle the rigor so they can be an easier admit for them. You have to just take the right classes, get a killer gpa. It is true that good grades would be easier to come by at a CC. ECs mean virtually nothing, they only count in freshman admissions. Go to your 4 year and apply by Feb 1st if you still feel you want to. But donā€™t give up the freshman experience if you have been planning on that, changing over to a CC would be dramatically changing your course if you have been set on going to a 4 year. But if going to a CC fits your life and plans for the next 12 months, that is an option too.

I am an international applicant @transfer9692

@transfer9692 YES! I remember you! we both didnā€™t have our high school transcripts updated on the portal HAHA :))

@transfer9692 @colelgerose @aznboi4981 I hope so! I applied to 6 schools I already heard back from 3 (they all accept me) I am waiting for Emory which releases decision in late April and then GW and USC

@SmartJarhead I believe weā€™re going to dorm together on campus. I also know housing fills up rather quickly, so I hope I am able to obtain a decent dorm/apartment.

What about yourself?

Iā€™m a Marshall applicant too!! Anxious to hear!

Does anyone know how many sophomore applicants get into Marshall?

I donā€™t believe any transfers here have as unique of a situation as I doā€¦

I did awful in high school, and I graduated almost 14 years ago. I went to a crappy state school on the east-coast immediately after and did even worse. Over the course of two years, I earned mostly Wā€™s and Fā€™s, earning a GPA just barely over a 1.0.

I was in the military for six years afterwards and grew up immensely. Iā€™ve spent the last two years at community college and Iā€™ve earned a 3.8 GPA.

I applied to Marshall as a Business major. To all the people worrying out there, just be thankful you didnā€™t make the awful decision I did around your age.

So Iā€™ll be the real test of whether USC is holistic. Honestly Iā€™m just thankful for the community college system, because without it, I wouldnā€™t have anywhere to go. Good luck everyone.

@SabPardo I hope to live on campus. I heard itā€™s hard to get though so weā€™ll see.

@clan123 @transfer9692 @colelgerose @anna717 I applied to Marshall too but as pre-accounting. Are you all Business Admin. majors or is anyone here pre-accounting?

@BBBBB3 hi there! Such a similar situationā€¦wishing for the best and trusting in a truly holistic process!!! Fingers crossed for the both of us.

Is anyone else applying under Price? Iā€™ve only seen one other Price applicant, which honestly makes me feel good considering how competitive it looks like Marshall is.

Hi, Iā€™m also applying pre-accounting! Where are you applying from if you donā€™t mind me asking?

@Capital_Dan same here!

@transfer9692

Hey fellow, non-TTP Marshall applicant on East coast as well! So exciting haha!!!
