2018 - 2019 USC Transfer

Anyone else applying under Price?

I first saw it on my portal then got the same letter in the mail around 3 days later. I didn’t receive an email though. @jobsoutofcollege

I am beyond nervous…

@aznboi4981 Just curious, you mentioned you turned down Tulane because it is too expensive, but USC costs a little bit more than USC. Are you local and not paying rooming charges? Did you apply anywhere else not so pricey or will you just stay put if USC doesn’t work out, you said it is your only remaining option. Good luck btw!

Apologies, but just to double check, the May 31st date for notification for transfer students is just the latest? Could they send you a rejection letter like a week or month after the February 1st deadline?

i got an emai todayl telling me to upload my winter quarter grades (im from a UC)… Did anyone get the same thing?
do i upload unoffical winter grade or official?.. it’s so costly to get the official… especially if i have to give my spring quarter grades too lol.

@CADREAMIN Tulane doesn’t meet 100% of need.

Do Annenberg majors hear back last? What if my second choice wasn’t in Annenberg?

@StipendAwarded the earliest you could know is April, but should plan on late April or May. Some TTP hear end of March but certainly not all of them. They do all the RD freshman applications first before they look at transfer apps. They want an idea of how that pool is shaping up before they consider transfers except TTP who sort of have a saved “spot” in the class.

@CADREAMIN @anzboi4981

Ditto w/Baylor - they don’t even accept the CSS Profile.

I see Tulane says it meets 95% of need, that’s a unique number. Sometimes the CCS profile hurts FA, because at some schools (like USC) equity in the home is money they consider available to pay for college. Every college does their own formula to determine need, and every year, people are surprised that their idea of need is very different from USC’s calculation. It is sad to see kids so excited to get in, then 7 days later get the FA and realize they were way off. Brutal. Also a lot of FA can include loans and ya have to be prepared for that too.

Yeah, it was less than 95%… It was a lot in loans… But still horrible. I am so disappointed. I declined admission with haste and mere sadness, but tomorrow I will call the FA office to see if there’s anything they can do.

@CADREAMIN I’m not in TTP. Also, the closest connection I have to USC is my aunt, who married into the family (she was an alum). I know that does not qualify me as a SCion, but I wondering how I could use that connection to my advantage for my application. Could I get her to recommend or write on my behalf?

^^^That will mean zippo in today’s enviroment, sorry. This isn’t USC of 1980, connections mean a lot less, particularly an aunt. Even parents as alum means a whole lot less today than 20 years ago. Maybe parents as alums help with a little star on the app, but you still need the grades and scores with it. It will not make up for lower anything anymore.

If I am looking for a package on USPS informed delivery, will it say it’s coming from USC? And insured for up to $100? Is there any chance USPS would not say it’s from USC?

It comes from USC, very clear, no question, and is not insured.

I thought it shows up anonymously on Informed Delivery… like it says a city in California??? Or am I mistaken?

USC 90089

@giriboy i am also applying from a UC school (currently a freshman, applying for soph transfer), but I did not get any such request (no email or update on portal)

Marshall applicant, got my sgr today. Pretty disappointed I thought my grades were good enough to get past it, now for the wait until July…
