2018 - 2019 USC Transfer

I currently go to a private college and I went and talked to the admissions office about it and they said that for those transferring from a 4 year, they’re pretty lenient about the writing requirement. I’m not sure how it would go in your case, but if you contact your counselor then I’m sure they can let you know. I’m sure its fine, they said they go case by case for those that don’t have the writing requirements.

@Elena1355 Nothing today in my folks’ USPS Informed delivery.

@transferring2000 Did they say anything about being lenient about GPA for 4 year transfer students by chance?

My counselor got back to me. She started the email by saying, “Thanks for reaching out!” That seems… promising? Lol

^^^We are talking extremes with the point made about 4 years, not in general. Someone trying to transfer from UCB engineering is going to be viewed differently than someone at a CC or a less rigorous four year. It’s not an across the board thing, but a common sense thing.

If I want to explain something in my app, do you think it would be better to email my counselor or just upload a statement onto the “additional info” section of the portal?

@smc2usc I asked my counselor if something I submitted last week was reviewed. She told me anything that is marked received under the documents section will be viewed.

Should I ask my counselor about the program of study thing in the FAST portal while I have her attention? Leaning towards just thanking her for answering my other question lol

@aznboi4981 No, don’t. What’s the point? Even if you ask indirectly if it means anything, counselors won’t give you an answer that you want. It also makes you look desperate. Just wait patiently for your decision and stop looking into small things.

so Marshall decisions are supposed to come out this weekend?

The advisors have nothing to do with financial aid and program of study is a financial aid check, it means nothing to admissions or advisor.

Chiiill, I was being sarcastic.

Is there a high chance of getting in if you get a spring grade request as a sophomore or?

I just want to know if marshall is sending acceptances tomorrow

I don’t think anybody on this thread can answer that definitively

If marshall was going to send acceptances this weekend, would they have sent them already today?

@goldnred Me too! i’m super excited

I’m getting heart palpitations

Hello, new to this thread! I applied to Marshall and have a few q’s that maybe some of you long-time contributors might be able to answer so I don’t have to sort through 127 pages: will decisions be sent on through the portal, email, or mail? & is there a timeline for when marshall will release decisions? Thanks in advance!

@kt_ay usually decisions if you are accepted come in through the mail, it will be a package, and then it will be updated in your portal later. If you receive a spring grade request then you will receive it in the portal first. As for rejections they usually will be updated in your portal first and then you will get a physical letter. You also get a letter for a spring grade request but it will be updated in the portal first
