@mondaydevil @southernboyal34 i posted in another thread — disaster for verbal!!! 31st %-ile!! (86 math and 75 reading so not amazing but not disaster either).
But the 31 is really freaking us out a bit! She is the top student in her 1000-person middle school so this is just a shock. We just had No idea how hard the scale would be. I knew she was struggling with verbal but she was doing 75-80 in practice tests (and 85 reading and 90-98 in math on practice tests). So this was all a very big disappointment.
She is refocusing and going to do her best to study the next 9 days before the test. Really a bummer to have lost a week with no results.
To think — we signed her up for December test “just in case” she didn’t break 90 overall and now she didn’t even break 70 overall.
Any advice for 9 days??
I think I may have said this in the other thread, but practice tests are really really helpful. Best of luck to your daughter! There’s a chance that she froze up during the test, so I’m sure taking it again will help her get used to it.
@Calliemomofgirls , I am now reading this whole thread.
Your D was doing fine on the practice tests and didn’t find the actual test too hard. Do you think she may have mis-bubbled? Skipped an answer or two and started up again the wrong line? If that’s the case, the December test may be a very pleasant surprise!
@mondaydevil - thx!
@gardenstategal — the thought has crossed my mind. She felt great after the test — better than practice tests. We shall see.
Biggest issue now is her getting over the disappointment and feeling like a failure so she can get back to the business of trying again in 9 days.
