I just got rejected from MIT so I’m really nervous for all my other decisions and it’s also making me nervous for ND despite my LL.
@XoXdreamerXoX don’t be nervous! You already have the LL from ND while most of us haven’t gotten anything! MIT is really tough to get in, don’t be discouraged!
@XoXdreamerXoX Thanks for your wishes! I don’t think you’ll need it, but same to you!
@Fiona1997 I know it’s a stressful time, but just remember that everything will be fine, no matter the decision you get. People who you’ve never met are judging your life, so don’t take it personally if you are rejected from any school, not just ND. Best of luck to you though!
I’ve gotta say, spending time on CC actually helps relieve my own stress. Hopefully I’ll be able to meet you guys in South Bend this fall
@IvyHopeful98 I am also needing the luck right now, so thank you very much.
May the luck of the Irish be with all of us!!!
@biggiek Good luck!!
@Fiona1997 @IvyHopeful98 Thanks, guys.
We also need to remember - and ND says this all the time - that thousands of qualified students do not get in. So even if we get denied we can’t be too down on ourselves
My school requirement is 6 classes per semester and now I’m taking seven. I’m a little stressed out and I want to drop one of the classes. Will the schools cancel my acceptance?
Hey you guys, since they are building two more dorms, one for male and one for female, that should be done by fall, how do you think that it will change the admissions consideration and those they are choosing to admit?
@Fiona1997 I would email if I were you.
@ebeth777 That’s great news… I really hope it means they’ll admit more!
@Fiona1997 I dont think they would cancel an acceptance, assuming you get one. I have been told by friends though that any schedule change must be reported to the college, so if my friends are correct, you are required to email them.
@ebeth777 That would explain why ND accepted a couple hundred more students REA than they did last year. Hopefully it means more acceptances to go around.
Unfortunately, ND does not intend to expand the size of its undergraduate population. The two new dorms were built to alleviate overcrowding in existing dorms. What will happen next year is that the residents of one women’s dorm (Pangborn) will move into the new women’s hall. Pangborn will then become a “float” dorm that will house dorm communities for one year while extensive renovations are made to existing dorms. I think Walsh will be the first community temporarily housed in Pangborn for a year. During housing applications this year, residents of any men’s hall were able to apply to transfer to the new men’s dorm and that is how they will create that community. As I said, the past couple of years some dorms were seriously overcrowded. My older daughter was in a forced triple created from a study room her freshman year, and the idea is to return common space to its intended use. On another note, best of luck to everyone. I know it is stressful. We went through the process two of the last three years and currently have two very happy Domers.
@ejcclc Accommodating for overcrowding definitely makes sense, and now that you mention it, I feel like I had heard that before. Thanks for the info, and congrats on having 2 children at ND!
This is truly this slowest week
ik nothing is impossible, but have people been accepted with a 31 act?
@litlhoward2468 my brother was accepted with a 31 but he was class of 2011 so things may have changed
Yes they have. The 25th percentile is 32, meaning 25% got lower
Sorry if this has been asked but does anyone know if a music portfolio adds up to the possibility of getting accepted?
@InfiniteHH98 I think it’s considered but obviously not everyone has a music portfolio to offer
