21 May 2007

I was up at Columbia for the CSPA convention (so much fun!) and I went next door to ask admissions when decisions come out. The secretary said they’re going to “start sending letter out the 21st.” LESS THAN A WEEK!!! Good luck eerybody!!!

Thanks for the update. Good luck to everyone from me, also! Did you realize in your title you wrote May, though?

that's awesome! i think you mean 21 March 2007, though.

Here's all the good wishes to all you wonderful futureBarnard ladies as you await your decisions!

Good luck everybody!

Thanks for letting all of the prospective students know what's up!

I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that I'll get accepted (and that it will be a financial possibility). Especially, since I've had a miserable week. Plus, the school that I thought was be my "perfect" safety, turned out to give me low financial aid and I found out that their program for my major is junk. One of the employees even told me to go to Barnard (over their school)! I have to get in first...

If all fails, I'll be happy to go to my state school for a year or so and then I can apply as a transfer....ignore my rambling

good luck to all of you!!! dont worry about the rambling re-nuh...i was in your position this past december! the week before finding out might have been the worst of my life...but it was all worth it because BARNARD IS THE BEST SCHOOL!!!! ahh...i am so excited about next year!!! hopefully i will get to meet yall!!! i will keep my fingers crossed (and when you do get accepted you need to join the barnard '11 facebook group (i think that the majority of the people that got accepted early are on it!!!)...again GOOD LUCK!

It's interesting that they have no problem revealing that information... I've always just assumed that the college admissions process was the equivalent to a secret FBI mission, hah. Are rejections sent out at the same time as acceptances? Does anyone know what to expect from a rejection letter, as far as size goes? My mom keeps preaching that whole "power of positive thinking" business that has been on Oprah. We'll see how far that gets me...

They send out acceptances in big priority mail sleeves, and everything else goes out normally. So, in theory, you should get an acceptance within two days of its being mailed, or else the news may not be so good (if you live close enough to NY, that is).

Also, overseas will take longer -- I think it was up to about a week last year. But I think it was mailed last year on a Friday and we on the west coast had our packets on Monday -- I am finding that most of the time, the 2-day priority mail does get wherever it is supposed to go in 2 days. (But the Post Office does not guarantee that -- so please, everyone, don't freak if on March 24 if you still haven't heard, there are bound to be some areas where mail service is messed up.

sorry about the title mistake...it won't let me fix it

Oh my gosh! Wait a second, according to my calendar, March 21st is THIS WEDNESDAY! And plue the two days, is going to be FRIDAY!

I think I'm gonna start having a panic attack....
It's a good thing I don't have any tests this week!

Good luck to everyone!

oh dear god... that is SO SOON!

this is the problem with cc: one discovers the kind of valuable information that will make one unable to concentrate on one's impossible AP Physics final on Friday.

eh well, i never liked physics anyways.

good luck everyone!

^^^^ ooooo, ap physics, not fun.

ahhhhhh im sooo excited!! good luck ladies!!

friday!!!! i don't know whether to be frightened or excited
ahhhh!!!!!!!!!

Oh god! I really can't believe it's time already! I have to keep reminding myself to breathe (literally) and that it WILL work out for the best in the end no matter what happens (or at least that's what my mom keeps telling me : / ).

Hmmm, I called admissions and someone told me that decisions wouldn't be mailed until March 26th.

They changed their minds?! Nooo!!! I want my letter this week, so I can make plans for spring break...

I had it marked on my calendar and everything...
